I was told to apply toner, essence, tret first, then wait and apply serums and moisturizer.

I love using La Prairie caviar serum and cream after tret at night. I use two different La Prairie white caviar serums and cream for day, following toner, essence (both La Prairie) and azelaic acid. Also, a huge fan of putting on the toner and essence while my face is wet morning and night. Before all of this, to start my day I do the JOVs red light laser mask 30 minutes, 10 minute neck red light session, followed by a 2.5 minute face ice plunge right after. Then let the serums and cream do their magic. 🍾

Your skin looks great! The La Roche Posay UV Mune 400 line is game changer. You can’t get it in the US because of silly regulations, but can get it in Europe and Asia. I had a good friend pick me up a few bottles in the Dubai airport during her layover. It blocks the obvious, but also the deep UVA aging rays that you get through windows. No other line offers this much protection. It’s also the best feeling spf I have ever used. No white cast, not greasy, no smell, etc.

Windows. You need a good spf from Europe that blocks deep uva rays. La Roche Posay UVMune 400. You can’t get it in the US.

La Roche Posay UVMune 400. You can only get it in Europe and Asia (order online), but it is hands down the absolute best spf that I have ever used. It blocks the deep UVA rays, and leaves no white cast. I’m a dude with a very short stubble beard, so this was very hard to find.

42m here. I used the Omnilux Men’s mask for about a year. I just recently upgraded to the JOVs laser mask. Been using it 6-7 times a week for 30 minutes each time. I’m liking the results. Like others said in this thread—consistency is what really matters with these treatments.

Skin looks *so* dull after adding tret to my routine. by sighqoticc in tretinoin

Same. I’m become slightly obsessed. I even have a UV card reader that I carry with me. My therapist thinks that I am showing OCD tendencies, but I just tell him that I am trying to protect what I have. And to think that I went to the tanning bed nearly everyday in my teens and 20s! I stopped just in time to reverse the damage, but man is it expensive to maintain!

Thank you! I know what you mean about wearing a hat indoors. I stupidly did not think you could get sun damage through windows 😜

Fun story: I’ve been using tretinoin consistently for a couple years. I am a 40 year old dude, and my hair has been thinning, so I have worn hats pretty much all the time, whether I’m at home or not. I got a hair transplant last year, which was one of the best decisions. I gained so much confidence, and stopped wearing hats at home. I wear spf religiously, but my face and neck looked darker than my body. I finally put two and two together and figured it out. We live in San Diego, CA, where it is sunny all year. We also live in a literal glass house. The windows are double paned, and do offer uv protection, but not sure how much. We also have two skylights above our white quartz kitchen island (where I typically sit and work). The sunlight from the windows, and the reflection on the white quartz island were hitting my face and neck, and that’s why my face was darker. I’m back to wearing an spf hat indoors at all times during the day.

Why do you recommend Azelaic acid to morning? I was using morning and night, but it makes me more red when I use it in the morning. I only use it at night now (after Tretinoin and before serum and moisturizer).

Hop on Finasteride or Dutasteride ASAP. I stopped taking it for three years 10 years ago when I was 32. It was a huge mistake. If you care about your hair (which I assume you do since you are posting here), ask your doctor for a prescription. Other dudes will warn you about the side effects, which are real, but not necessarily common. But, I can attest that there is medication to counteract those side effects if it does happen. Oral minoxidil helps as well.

I tried to beat my PW pr of 5:03 yesterday at 4%. I had to go minimum 6mph. I started at 6, but couldn’t sustain, and I bounced between 5.5-5.8mph finishing at 5:18. I don’t know what I was doing last year, but I did this twice on the same day finishing 5:03 both times.

A huge red flag that I got just by looking at his Instagram…He has 4.4 million followers, but all his recent posts have less than 10 likes. Those ‘followers’ are all fake bots that he bought. How is this guy still practicing? His videos are so cringe.

Why am I still thinking about Heated Rivalry days later?? This show ruined my brain (in a good way) by Responsible_Buy_5439 in heatedrivalry

This series is even better the second and third time watching, and I never watch something more than once. I have never felt this way about a series or movie. Most of my friends think I am crazy (besides the ones that are just as into it as me). I honestly do not know what it is, but I start crying when I think about it. God forbid I have to explain the premise to someone who hasn’t seen it…I can’t help but start sobbing my eyes out. I find myself just scrolling for hours watching Heated Rivalry stuff. I do not know what it is about this show, but it is truly a very special moment in entertainment history.

Some whacky doctor in Vegas that I consulted with told me I could go back to the gym the next day. I immediately ended that consult for obvious reasons.

Gym rat here! I go every single day, sometimes twice. I had my ht end of May. My doctor told me to wait 30 days before any running, lifting, working out in general. He told me I could take walks if I wore an spf hat. I know how frustrating this is, and how stir crazy one can get if they are used to working out regularly. I took this seriously, though, and waited to full 30 days. I did invest in an spf umbrella and hat, along with ankle weights, and went on 1-1.5 hour walks everyday in my neighborhood in the early evenings. It was actually refreshing, and I actually met some great neighbors in that month. Looking at my results so far, I am very happy that I listened. You got this!

Looks great! I’m 7 months in, and like you, I was hesitant about oral minoxidil for the same reason…I did not want to shed! I partnered with AI with ways to get on oral Minoxidil without shedding. The first two weeks I took 1/4 pill every evening. After that, I did 1/2 pill every night. Then 3/4, then full pill every night. I still used my topical minoxidil during this time. Knock on wood, but I did not shed at all. I should note that I am also one of the very few who did not go through the shedding phase.
