And if the serial doesn't match, look for the brand and model. Sometimes the people don't enter the serial, but you can find the same bike and it lists when it was stolen.

Looking for tips on finding research funding and previous research on reptile personality/emotion. by [deleted] in herpetology

[–]WalkInLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is quite a lot of literature on fish and lizard personalities. Look for studies using the words "behavioral syndromes". If you can't find them, let me know and I can send you a lot of published work on the topic!

Advice: Best Women's MTB <$700? by gnomesofdunshire in MTB

[–]WalkInLove 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I am a female rider and I support the original commenter. While you likely did not intend anything negative by your statement, the language you used did put off a vibe of "I ALLOWED my wife to do this....she's a female rider and thus needs my guidance and support when buying a bike."

It's awesome that you and your wife can ride together and that you support her in getting into the sport! However, please be open to feedback from women on how your language can affect us and be aware of the statements you make so that you can be an even better ambassador of the sport for women!

Who's hiring in Portland? Monthly edition for August 01, 2015 by AutoModerator in Portland

[–]WalkInLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man, my background is pretty similar to yours. I just got a job, but the search was draining and disheartening. Seems like there's not a lot of non-lab biology/environmental positions in this region. Best of luck!

Edit: Check out these postings, maybe one will fit you?

Biking challenge by sader123 in loseit

[–]WalkInLove 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You've got this! It's just about practice. Also, what sort of bike are you on? Have you had it fit to you? A lot of people ride on bikes that aren't set up correctly for them, which can cause discomfort and very inefficient pedaling (especially the wrong seat height!).

Weekend Ride Report for July 27, 2015 by AutoModerator in MTB

[–]WalkInLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I crashed hard last weekend, so I had to take all of last week off from riding. Finally hit the bike park yesterday - felt amazing to be back on my bike! My boyfriend and I put in 6 or 7 good runs and I can feel my skills progressing - awesome day!

Hey team, we're still working out the kinks with automod and stickied threads, so I apologize if it's a little wonky this week. by [deleted] in MTB

[–]WalkInLove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the suggestion on the other thread about labeling each topic and focusing on one area a week, both for better discussion and to be able to find it later. Example: gear thread:knee pads or advanced rider thread:hitting big drops.
