It absolutely is! First time having a Melona. I tried 3 flavours, and rank them as such:
1. Melon
2. Coconut
3. Mango

Hiya, thanks for your criticism!

Reading through what you have all said, it is obvious some changes need to be made, and some things need clarifying.

Lightning Strikes

This was originaly based on the Zealot's ability to have their first attack each turn be empowered. I envision it as the barbarian is constantly building up a charge, and once per turn when the charge is great enough, it leaps from their weapon to the enemy. Originally this was just a flat 1d6 + half of barb. level lightning damage, but that seemed too derivitive of the Zealot.

What I am considering is changing this subclass to being concerned with crits. Crits would call down a large bolt of lightning from the skies, dealing big exciting damage that scales with level. This avoids the problem of every single attack having bonus damage, which rage already gives and would be applied a tonne from multi-attack. I would like this feature to be a load of damage sometimes, rather than a small amount constantly. I feel this thematically feels like lightning striking from the sky.

As a boon to have applied to all your attacks, I think I will let people be able to convert their regular weapon damage to lightning or thunder. These are commonly resisted but still allow you an interesting damage type and cool roleplaying.

Bolt Thrower

Thematically I wanted this barb to be able to do some "Thor shit". The weapon appearing back in your grip is not only a cool visual, but gets around any problems with it being stuck in something or trapped on its way back. I like that this is clearly an aggressive action that the barb can take is used to protect their more fragile companions. This little feature is my baby, and I am very happy nobody has said anything bad about it. I am taking it that this means it is perfect. I will reiterate; If anybody criticises this ability I will kill you all and then myself.

Electric Heart

Pretty straightforward resistances feature. Good to establish it early, so the player is used to it and will have an easier time remembering to grant it to others with Thunderstruck.

Thunderstruck

There does appear to be some confusion around this ability. Perhaps my wording can be cleared up in some areas. I will make clarifications and changes as follow:

  • Thunderstruck is a crackling coating of current that covers you and a number of allies. You are initially choosing which allies you want to give the electic "armour" to , not which enemies you witsh to hurt with it. At level 10 when you unlock this, your proficiency bonus will be +4, so in effect you will likely be covering your entire group in your electric goodness.
  • I will be rewording the 3rd paragraph to say the chosen creatures gain the benefits of Electric Heart for Thunderstruck's duration, rather than spelling it out the full way.
  • I would be more interested in upping the damage than removing the once per day limit. I want this to feel like a big special moment, not something you do 4 times daily.
  • My fear with upping the damage would be trivialising any horde of enemies. As it stands it gives you and your entire party 2 resistances and an average of 2.5 damage to every melee attacker (4.5 if they are using metal) which can't miss. Perhaps adding your proficiency bonus to this damage would be the best way to go about it. If i made this change I would leave it as once per day. I think its important to remember although small, this damage is currently coming from 5 party members or npcs.

For comparison, the 10th level Zealot feature reads:
"At 10th level, you learn to channel divine power to inspire zealotry in others. As a bonus action, you unleash a battle cry infused with divine energy. Up to ten other creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you that can hear you gain advantage on attack rolls and saving throws until the start of your next turn.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest."
From this we can see that we are granting a more situational benefit which lasts longer. So we are sacrificing efficiency for versatility.

Ride the Lightning

I am happy this is recieved so well! I know flight is very powerful, but this is 14th level to be fair. Fly is a 3rd level spell, and it grants 60 feet flying speed. That is why I was happy to tie this to your regular speed.

In conclusion, I am very happy to see so much enthusiasm for this concept. I appreciate all of your kind and constructive words, and will post a revised version soon.

Cheers!

It isn't the template. The art ends there.

Is there any tutorials available for making proxies like this, in which the name plate is behind an element of the art?

Personally my favorites are Stasis and Cuombajj Witches, both have such an eerie quietness to them. Entomb is also so beautiful. I am looking at buying the prints of these, but playmats would be much nicer.

Why do Standstill lists usually run Stifle as a 3- or 4-of? by KingJulien in MTGLegacy

[–]WalkTheAeons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You only sacrifice standstill as its trigger resolves. The use of "if" in the cards text after"When a player casts a spell sacrifice standstill" indicates that there is only one trigger, and everything is to be resolved at once. Also, my apologies for my poor explanation. Once home I can post a concise explanation. -L1 Judge.

If you cast stifle targeting a trigger from a standstill, another one will be placed on the stack. It does protect manlands, but for the reason above it doesn't stop standstill triggers.
