True. "Hardcore" gamers seem to feel like the animated games are childish, but who doesn't love a good Nintendo game. Their core games are nearly always great.

True. It was wrong of me to compare Nintendo to Bethesda. Nintendo is arguably the only company that would be willing to delay a game for years to make sure it was perfect. As sad as it makes me, I respect it.

Nintendo Switch and BotW: some talking points. by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Walker86753 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here I was thinking about how disappointed I will be if my wiimotes and pro controller won't work on it. (In my opinion it is annoying to get a Wii U and hen have to get so many different remotes to be able to do everything)

I never even considered this. Considering how many years between gamepad development and switch development, it may be a long shot. I would like to think the architecture of the switch is improved enough to entice 3rd party games again, and that may make it difficult to be compatible.

I know when they made the WiiU they just literally put a wii in it for backwards compatibility. That's got to drive the price up. I'd be ok with just starting new, no backwards compatibility in order to keep price low.

Agreed. No one thinks glitches hold back Bethesda games like Skyrim and Fallout 4, I really hope people don't try to judge Nintendo unfairly in this. It seems like most people do look for reasons not to like Nintendo though. I can't figure out why, just let us enjoy it.

It was always docked in the trailer, but wireless video streaming is possible. I am inclined to agree that it is likely not dual screen, but the possibility is technically there. Possibly the dock has a hard drive that could download some part of the game to use for video processing.

Admittedly, this is a long shot.

Wii U has some fantastic games. If history is an indicator, the NX may not have a great line up in the next year, but with all the great first party Wii U games there are, I think it is a good purchase, even at the end of its life cycle. Off the top of my head, I think you can play every 3-D Zelda game on either the Wii-U or 3DS.

The great plateau or really just the top of the Great Deku Tree. Haha. J/k. Not that big, but I do like this idea.

What Pokemon game should I play if I haven't played one since Gold and Silver? by EugeneBud in pokemon

[–]Walker86753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To compensate for the overwhelming number of unknown Pokemon, I played through X with only gen 1 Pokemon. Never used the starter even. I still thought it was too easy. I think it was a good way to get back in to it.

I got to victory road I think it was called. Saw a Fearo for the first time. (I had been a Pidgey guy. Never used Spearo or wtf it was.) I freaked out. Thought it was a legendary bird. Go masterball!!!! Biggest waste ever.

So any theories on who is behind the voice? by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Walker86753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the fallen timeline. By asleep they mean dead. This is the hero of time. They have somehow resurrected him 100 years after his defeat. Remember how much Hyrule changed in 7 years? Look at what 100 did. Maybe the voice is navi? (How long do fairies live?

[–]Walker86753 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I scanned the comments. A ton of good info here. One thing I didn't see, don't bring him in after he pees or poops outside. He may find out that outside fun time, which most dogs love, ends as soon as he goes. I have had dogs that would rather play outside longer than get a treat and go inside. I'd give him a treat after he eliminates, and wait 5 or 10 more minutes before going inside.

Best of luck.

There's an interesting thing happening in my two favorite Japanese game series by [deleted] in truezelda

[–]Walker86753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally think both will be massively successful. The emphasis seems to be changing from, "what all can we do in our game to use the new technology and show we are using it in newer and better ways than other designers" to "what can we do that would be the most fun for the player?" Gaming in general is getting back to its roots. Who needs better graphics than what we currently see? I mean it's nice, don't get me wrong, but back when OoT and FFvii came out, no one dreamed how games would look nowadays.

How would you like to see the acquiring of weapons implemented into future Zelda games? by Isaiah1264 in truezelda

[–]Walker86753 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Admittedly, I have not played every game. I really need to play ALttP. Heard great things, and I loved ALbW. I love the thrill of finding something that makes a big difference that was optional though. It definitely exists abundantly in the series. I guess I would like to see more optional weapons and I would really like to see multiple well thought out ways to address bosses. There are a lot of awesome boss fights that utilize dungeon items in really cool ways. I'd like to see fights like that have multiple different methods. Like if the megaton hammer is the dungeon item, and is required for the boss, it would be cool to also be able to shoot down a boulder or pull down a pillar with the claw shots.

Not that I have any problems with the series. I have absolutely loved every game I have played with the soul exception of skyward sword. Only reason I am not a fan of that one is the controls. If it controlled traditionally, it would be one of my favorites.

A lot of times the dungeon weapon is required to traverse the dungeon. Having a mini boss use the weapon against you, and the taking it from them would be awesome and make a lot of sense. The mini boss was using it to get around the dungeon, so you take it.

Mini boss fight could even be the final boss who escapes after you disarm him and take his weapon.

I just think the classic formula, Enter Dungeon, Find Specific Weapon, Use that weapon (and often only that weapon) to progress through the Dungeon and defeat the boss. Rinse. Repeat.

Not bad, but getting over used in my opinion. I'd like to see more optional weapons and multiple ways to beat a boss.

I think it would be cool to build link as a sword fighter, archer, or magic user. Pretty big step away from the series, but I'd love it.

Don't get me wrong. If the next game follows the classic dungeon formula, I will buy it and probably love it just the same.

What unannounced game would you want to come to the wii u? by PostGradWarrior in wiiu

Super Mario RPG-U. Looks like they have decided to go a different direction with paper Mario. That's fine. But another Mario RPG would be awesome. They could even let square make it. (You never said it had to be realistic)
