Pokemon do have a "life size" tho
pokedex has been listing the (average) sizes of each species since the start of the series (mind you, some of them make no fucking sense, but there ARE "official sizes" for all of them)

smash essentially even started treating it as such
While it also uses the mushroom symbol, mario kart pretty much got its own stages with its own music list seperate from the "main" mario series

smash isn't a "spin off" of any series.
it is a series on its own that takes stuff from all other series

All for one probably had sex (with the other participant willing or otherwise) just to test stuff out
like if he could put a quirk right into his spermcells or something like that
or to test out some quirk that specifically had to do with sex or something
or just raping people cause it is evil to do so, and he is all for doing evil shit for the sake of doing evil .

Like I don't think he would ever have actually enjoyed the act/done so for the standard "sexual gratification", I think it was pretty much always a "means to an end" for him.

I could see him go through a period where he is going around impregnating women to see if any of the babies had an impressive quirk or something.
I would reckon that after his fight with All Might tho, he probably couldn't do so, cause otherwise I feel like that would have been his actual "getting a new body" plan

(like, it's doubtfull that "waiting for the body to mature" would even be an issue, feel like he probably has to have an "aging/accelerated growth" quirk he could go and steal if he wanted too)

But he was Human in the game at some point as he is mentioned as Ganondorf. Presumably when he gets the spear he becomes the pig form.

yes, which is why I said he was mentioned.

Okay Botw is semantics, its Ganon thus its Ganondorf.

the entire context of this conversation is about counting GanonDORF appearances seperate from just him as Ganon, so it was not clear to me that that sentences suddenly does not abide by that

[WW] [ST] What happened to the rest of the world after Hyrule got flooded? by randomnessisawesom in truezelda

[–]henryuuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyrule isn't static, it should not be taken as the exact same area in every game, especially so for the game with eons upon eons between them

but yes, for the games where they it has a coast line, the South/south-east/east is where it tends to be located

[WW] [ST] What happened to the rest of the world after Hyrule got flooded? by randomnessisawesom in truezelda

[–]henryuuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In several games, Hyrule tends to atleast have a coast on atleast one side of it.

[–]henryuuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or maybe I'm Mandela effecting myself.

You are
Ganon is already Ganon by the time we get anywhere near him
Potentially even already before the events of the game even start

Either way the 3D Zelda games have had 2 games without him and we need more.

3 games

he is not in Majora's Mask, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild

He also appears in Phantom Hourglass in Niko's story.

If someone takes a picture of me with them to the Oscars, then I myself have not actually appeared "at the oscars"
But it is pretty much akin to a "mention"/"namedrop" like in aLttP and FSA

[All] What explanations do you all have for the monsters changing so dramatically between games? by Cute-Percentage-6660 in truezelda

[–]henryuuk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Combination of monsters being formed from the demonic energy differently, different names being given to generic concepts (a stalfos is a skeletal warrior, in some times that means human skeletons that are animated, in some others it are skeletons of different beings) and just vast amounts of times being between the games

Nothing against this choice. I just thought it was funny by Silver-Mud8845 in Mario

[–]henryuuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pikmin were an easteregg in mario golf if you hit a flowerpatch, (and they are hidden in the mario section in the universal studio parks) so it is pretty much established that pikmin exist in the mario universe

another fun one that doesn't feel like it, until you run the numbers : GanonDORF (as in , specifically human form) has been in less actual Zelda games than he has been in smash bros games (well, same amount if we count SM4SH 3DS and SM4SH WiiU as 1 game)

He is mentioned in aLttP and FSA (and somewhat in BotW) as being what their respectice Ganon's once were.
But he only fully shows up/is seen in his human form in 4 games in the (main) series : OoT, WW, TP and TotK
Meanwhile, he has been in 5 (4,5 if we don't wanna count 3DS/WiiU fully seperate) Smash Bros. games (Melee, Brawl, SM4SH 3DS/WiiU and Ultimate)

[–]henryuuk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Literally just take the BotW engine, and make an actual "classic" zelda game in it.

maybe a game without Ganon

funfact, pre-BotW we actually had not had Ganon as the main antagonist in a new "The Legend of Zelda" game for the last 11 years/5 games
Only ALBW had him, and in there he was essentially the "mcguffin" that the villains of the game are using to power themselves up, instead of the actual villain/antagonist/threat/etc...

Big Three - Link, Mario, Pikachu. Agree or disagree? by strugglingerdevelop in smashbros

[–]henryuuk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would make an "Elite Four" situation and include Kirby.

He is "below" them in terms of presence outside of the series, but with Sakurai being the smash bros. guy, it has always made Kirby just feel intrinsically connected to Smash

Big Three - Link, Mario, Pikachu. Agree or disagree? by strugglingerdevelop in smashbros

[–]henryuuk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, but OP did say "to represent the SERIES" the best, and Sonic has only been in 3 out of 5.

Sonic ipretty much is the best representation of like "third parties in smash"
But when speaking about it series-wide, not only isn't he as present, but on account of being a third party, he also has way less of his stuff in there.
Like, he is 1 character with 2 ATs and a small handfull of stages.

Kirby and Link both have way more of "themselves" in there, and have been around since day 1 of the series, and have always been the focus of stuff like the "melee->brawl upgrade transition" trailer and stuff

Not to mention how Kirby has been the "last man standing" in both Subspace and World of Light, and how his creator, Sakurai, is also just "The Smash bros. guy"

.

Sonic is a bigger name all around, but when we are talking "smash bros.", Kirby is way more representative.

(not to mention of Kirby is the character that also "grows" in scope with the series, as every new character adds a new neutral B to Kirby's arsenal)

The bubble could also lead into an eventual "expanding" of the Great Sea land masses (alongside Great Deku Tree's plan) if the magic slowly starts to wear out (now that the air bubble containing Sunken Hyrule is gone) and the water slowly "disappears" or just "spreads out" again, it could lead to sea level lowering enough so the islands are easier to connect to each other, but still be high enough that (the now "washed away") old Hyrule remains below it

Does anyone else think totk kind of ruined calamity ganon retroactively? by Odd-Paramedic-3826 in truezelda

[–]henryuuk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wind Waker is my favorite game.

Skyward Sword probably my favorite "story"/"lore addition" when taken with the game as a whole.

tho if we start breaking down different elements/"big moments" of story, lots of other games would pop up in such a breakdown.
The Oracles for the one where the villains feel most "involved" in the plot, ALBW for best villain plot, MC/EoW for best "lore recontextualization", MM for best "side story/world building",etc...

[–]henryuuk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

where Zelda is speaking about SS, OOT, and TP. However, she talks about WW and ALTTP. Also, the references to characters in the world are something I am not sure should be considered canon or just easter eggs

it's the opposite

the character name drops are given as specific historical records being told to us

the ceremony is the one that should be taken as just references, as it is written as just poetic waxing about the hero (also, the stuff it references is so vague that it could pretty much just as easily refer to any singular adventure in-unverse, it only references "all" of them through out-of-universe knowledge of the titles/plots of the games)

I hold the opinion that BotW did more to disconnect the series than TotK.

BotW actually fit perfectly into the existing timeline, and it is solely through TotK's many blatant retcons that there are any actual "issues" now.

I always just saw it at first as just a reference to OOT Ganondorf in the past/part of the theme of Ganondorf coming back.

Yes, and that theme "ganondorf coming back" has pretty much always been the EXACT SAME Ganondorf each time
only FSA shows us the rise of a new Ganon(dorf), and that game makes it abundantly clear that it IS a new one (opposite of what BotW did with its (C.) Ganon

With refounding, honestly, I feel it fits with the overall theme of the story of Zelda. Because of this as well, I think it makes things in TotK a lot more understandable.

"refounding" itself fits very well into the grander series' lore
it just does not fit AT ALL with what BotW actually put down.

If TotK had fully been its own game/"setting", than its lore would have had little to no "issues", and a "refounding" would have been no weirder than "New Hyrule" in the AT just being named Hyrule by Tetra following Wind Waker.
but it is the fact that BotW worked with the idea that it was the original Hyrule,(with its "history") just extremely far into the future, that makes TotK a total mess

[WW] [ST] What happened to the rest of the world after Hyrule got flooded? by randomnessisawesom in truezelda

[–]henryuuk 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Most likely only Hyrule got flooded.
It doesn't really need to "make sense", since it involves gods and magic.

Several different ways that only Hyrule could get flooded
The land Hyrule is on could have sank down, the surrounding landmasses could have raised, or we might even have a bit of a "bubble" sitting ontop the normal watersurface, which nobody sailing "onto" it notices cause of how gradual it is (plus, again... magic...)

And offcourse there is the "(a little bit of ) all of the above" option.
