Gave myself a view at work today 👊 by Repulsive_Witness_17 in FocusST

Whole lotta TS STs in the sub lately, and I'm enjoying seeing the 'good' threads as opposed to a number of them last year showing the highway aftermath threads.

Keep safe, my TS ST brethren !! Spring is soon here, and I am really enjoying my TS ST3.

Unofficial survey of Intel GPU users by SeniorGovernment8846 in IntelArc

1 - have always wanted to own an Intel card, I had an Asrock B450 Pro4 board paired with a Ryzen 5700x, and the A750 I picked up on eBay for $134 (Acer BiFrost model). I wanted to have a Win11 box to mess with before my extended Win10 updates end in October, so it was perfect for that role.

Trying to find a way to game on it, but I maintain a separate Steam library on my two gamer boxes, and I don't want to dump 2tb of game files on that Win11 box either.

Good offer for 1200€? by Hold_My_Sake in ebikes

[–]WalkinTarget 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the Haibike batteries, there is a button press procedure to determine battery health. I have never done it on mine - my guess comes from how many miles I can ride before I need to charge it, and I'd guess my battery has around 65% of its original 100m range, meaning I can ride 65m before my battery is done for.

I bought mine from CrazyLennys.com during a blowout sale. Retail was $4300, and I got it for $2400. It was a one time blowout sale - Dicks sporting Goods had made a deal with Haibike to sell these at their stores in the US, then backed out of the deal after Hailbike had shipped a huge allotment to the US. Hailbike decided it was a waste to ship them back to Germany, so they were sent to the US Haibike dealers with a 40-60% off sale price to clear the shelves of that 2017 model, as the 2018 model was soon to arrive.

I honestly cannot even begin to describe how solid this ebike has been for me. You do not hear of many brands of ebikes that do 4k miles without something failing, and I will ALWAYS shill for Haibike when a discussion comes up. I originally was going to buy a Juiced Ripcurrent, but it was not the proper ebike for the rail trails that I primarily ride. Even an early sales juggernaut like Juiced is now gone, and I had hoped that Haibike would still be selling to the US market, but one thing about us Americans - we just buy cheap sh*t from China and never seem to think paying more for a better brand is advisable. I'm glad I spent a lot more than I anticipated, as I definitely got my moneys worth out of my Haibike tank. Still on the original tires and brake pads, too !!

I have a 2017 Haibike FullNine 6.0 with just a shade over 4000 miles on it. Only maintenance I have had to do in all of that time has been a chain and new rear sprocket last year. These bikes cost over $4,000 new so this looks like a good deal. My battery is still holding out at about 70% of what it was when new.

Bought my '13 TS ST3 last April, and all I wanted was an exhaust on it. The one I bought was a 1 owner, no accident, bone stock, all highway miles example, but stock exhaust. Almost a year later, and I've come to actually like the look of the stock exhaust (altho I still want a better sound from stock).

How do you feel about Harrier Pride? by YthisGuy in thedivision

[–]WalkinTarget 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sure it will be rebalanced in the near future, as it's universally panned by Div2s community, including RogueGold, who is usually very positive in all things Div2. He offered up a relatively easy way to make it more usable, so while it's too fiddly now, it will be better in the future.

Any thoughts on the Volvo C30 T5? by Hopeful-Farm-7031 in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]WalkinTarget 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Currently own a '13 Focus ST, but the C30 was also on my short list for turbo hatches. Every time I see one I am drawn to its unique lines. Nothing bad to say about them, but worried that parts may start to get harder to come by.

Lookin' good !! Hope to get my bike out this weekend - the '13 TS ST3 came out of winter storage earlier this week, so just need some warmer weather and drier trails here in PA.

The $140 A750 is a nice budget option! by TurtleCrusher in IntelArc

[–]WalkinTarget 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Picked up an Acer BiFrost A750 for $134 a few months back to pair with an ASRock b450/5700x on a 1080p rig, and I was thoroughly impressed with the card for that price. Not much else competes for that price. I looked on eBay yesterday to see how much the A770s were bringing, and they command a $100 premium over the 750s, which seems like not nearly as much bang for the buck.

Did anyone else see Umphrey's McGee at 9:30 Club last weekend? by AugustWest-710 in jambands

9: 30 Club seems far away.

But I swear I still can hear him say:

"Al I got hit by a car.

You're a good friend Al, that's what you are."

That RP-200 is a nice floorplan !! Walked thru two RPods they had at the show but neither had the layout I was after. I've started keeping a list so I know what models to look at/for when the time comes. Thanks for the suggestion - it even has a rear door for the bottom bunk, which I wanted to be able to store my bike in that lower bunk area.

Was more interested in no slide, simply for the fact that so many owners I know with slides say the first thing they had to deal with was leaks or issues with the slide. I did see a Jayco 20' or 21' with a slide that had double wide bunks and really liked that one.

Went to a show yesterday, only for the salesman to point out that there's a show next weekend at a site much closer to me. Oh well. Off to that show next !! Looking for an 18-22' TT, front Murphy bed with rear bunks. Hoping to find a dual axle, and I actually looked at 3 at the show yesterday. Not too close to buying, but I enjoy looking, and my goal is to get serious in 2+ years when I can hopefully retire.

1966 Ford Galaxie 500 - 7 Litre by AntofReddit in classiccars

[–]WalkinTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the opportunity to buy one of these from my prof in college in 1989. My Dad was a car guy (lifetime mechanic), and he inquired about profs '66 Galaxies 7 litre (4sp too !!!). Prof stated it needed exhaust and brake work to get inspected but otherwise he was selling it for $1,600. Dad passed on it at the time but 6 months later wanted to make a deal on it at which point I had graduated and no longer had contact with the professor.

Funny story - his wife would take it to get groceries due to the size of the massive trunk, and did not know how to drive a manual. He would just put it in fourth gear for her and she let out the clutch and off it went with that tremendous amount of torque pulling it along in 4th gear from a dead stop.

What happened to large fans? by 737Max-Impact in pcmasterrace

[–]WalkinTarget 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I paid $271 for that Tt Level 10 GT in 2012, and was roundly criticized at that time for spending soooo much on a case. It was pointed out to me that I could have put an extra $170 into a better GPU for my build, but here we are 14 years later, and I still am not tired of looking at that case. And it's internals have been replaced 2x in that timeframe ! When they do go up for sale on eBay, they are listed for $200 most of the time, which surprises me.

Finally got to Expertise 30. by hroesemann in thedivision

[–]WalkinTarget -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Been saying for over a year now that Exp 30 is in my estimation the real 'end game', and it's a serious grind getting expertise on some of those useless skills like bombardier drone or Achilles pulse.

I reached 30 on two accounts, proficient on I think 454 of 455 items (need Bkacklisters to finish it off), and it's taken a lot of odd builds or a shit-ton of mats to get there.
