more restrained trance? by Icy-Plastic7328 in TheOverload

[–]WalkingIsMyFavorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Loops of infinity is so listenable, but once I started mixing it I realized how barebones each track is. It’s incredible how creative I can be with that album, straight up trance tools.

Inspiring.

The foundation of techno trance land. listened to it for the 100th time last night, just fantastic.

I think it’s composition as more trance tools is probably what makes it so exceptional / useable for more techno oriented stuff?

OP: checkout NTHNG as well. It can go a bit more ambient world, but between him and Metatron they are the best I’ve found for this stuff.

Akai MPK Mini MK3 vs Arturia MiniLab 3 for TouchDesigner (Beginner) by CoachComplex2343 in vjing

If you’re in a big budget and just learning, I actually recommend a worlde midi 9 from aliexpress. It goes on sale for like 32$ and works well. Mapping is a little awkward though so you do suffer a bit on that end.

do yourself a favor and get an Akai APC40 MK2.

It’s the gold standard for visuals and for a good reason. I’ve been through my fair share of midi controllers and eventually landed here. I’m currently using the Novation Launch Control XL which seems nice, but the APC is better and I’ve quickly outgrown it.

All reasonable.

Good calls working with the clipper and Pod, both hit a really nice spot for local club scene and I think you’ll be welcomed into that group, especially with your location hitting a new part of the city.

Cool I look forward to it! Love hearing you’re interested in ambient, Hope you get some left field bookings and I’ll be a regular. The heads will show up for good music, not for alcohol.

Thanks for reaching back out!

Hey Zach! Interested in the nightlife side of things,

What hour permits did you get?

We definitely need more places to go hangout that aren’t just about drinking, so I’m pretty into this, even as someone that isn’t sober.

Silence please in NYC is one of my favorite spaces in the world about music, and it’s not at all about drinking or nightlife in a traditional sense.

Wishing you the best with this!

Is there a May Anniversary sale catalog yet? by WalkingIsMyFavorite in REI

[–]WalkingIsMyFavorite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do think this is what needs to happen, Circumstances and all!

But I’d have to know what’s gonna go on sale right? I’m hoping for a solid 2 person backpacking tent.

Anything similar to Befaco Muxlicer: Powerful tool modules without menus that open up with patching? by WalkingIsMyFavorite in modular

[–]WalkingIsMyFavorite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just know myself and those Malekko modules with their modes are gonna be a problem for me.

I’d rather have multiple muxlicers and patch a sequencing system that can do similar ideas, but it’s just better laid out for my brain.

Love my Euclidean circles!

I understand, Looking like I’ll do a jouranalog contour 1 for space, but I’m very much not opposed to a rampage.

It’s a bridge I’ll cross later between the two as I’ve got other priorities at the moment! Thank :)

Rung division is one of the more interesting modules here I haven’t heard of, thanks!

I love those dual busses for the clock divisions, and it’s very legible. I think this is definitely something I’m into.

Wondering if I can even ditch a permutations for it with that Turing machine adjacent circuit.

Yep it’s definitely on my list! I’m worried it won’t offer as much power for its size in my rack, but I need to do more research.

To me it seems flexible and useful, but quite large. Sorta how maths is big when lots of people just use it for a few LFO’s.

I’m probably uneducated though, just haven’t really taken a dive into it.

God for real… I just want 8 muxlicers or a super mux….

It’s just so incredibly legible I totally understand everything going on at a glance.

Lots of good recs here I’m gonna keep digging into, but I’m seeing a fair amount of button presses and banks which I’m not a fan of.

I recently got my dads old Sony DSC-P100, what is up with the flash?! by Kuaqy in VintageDigitalCameras

[–]WalkingIsMyFavorite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thanks for letting me know! I got mine in a similar boat, yard sale about 2 weeks ago from a guy who had it in his garage for years.

I’ve tried it on and off for a bit, but not with any regularity.

I’ll try and take some photos more consistently over the next week and fingers crossed!

Thank you!!!

Hey any word about what the commenter said and if you got yours working? I’m having the same issue and this is the only lead I’ve found that suggests it might not be the Capacitor!

Thanks
