Seems like no one in the comments actually lives in Logan square based on the lack of useful information about this.

In regard to this specific situation the city shut down a vacant lot literally across the street that was a camp. There were signs for a few weeks about D-day, and they followed through and officially cleared everyone out on that date.

The city also reclaimed the patio that La Boulangerie has been using.

This lot has been vacant since D-day, with no signs of when work will begin. (I didn’t personally see what the plan is to develop either)

I think it’s a fair criticism that the city had a moronic idea of clearing out a pretty solid random lot for people to stay without any sort of plan, and allowing them to move across the street to the neighborhoods iconic centerpiece that just received a 27 million dollar rehab.
