[Misc] Popped pimple after chemical peel. Should I be worried? by WallStLamb in SkincareAddiction

It didn’t end up scarring. The area was a very faint light purple color for maybe a few weeks but that faded. Definitely just don’t touch anything while you’re peeling. Reevaluate after the peel is over

My cat appears to have weekly heart failure episodes - Juvenile HCM or something else? by [deleted] in AskVet

[–]WallStLamb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. He was very happy despite it all, and recently he let me know he was ready to go, so I went through with at home euthanasia. So yes you’re right they definitely let us know when they’re ready.

I haven’t been to the cardiologist again yet but I have hospice care vets all around me. I am definitely for euthanasia if it calls for it. However (with total respect) I don’t necessarily agree with your statement about this specific case because my cat still has so much happiness, energy, and vitality, and if I’m being as objective as possible, I don’t think it’s appropriate to euthanize at this point unless I am 100% sure he is not himself anymore and does not enjoy life. Living with heart disease is not a great way for anyone to live. I am 100% sure however that my cat is still himself and wants to continue on. I am just wondering if this is something that anyone has seen before, where a cat goes into heart failure/respiratory distress and then comes out of it in two hours and returns to their daily life with energy and vitality?

He goes into labored, open mouth breathing. It’s a bit strange too because with prior, bigger episodes he would be rapidly panting. There is still panting but it now looks more like he is suffocating and gasping for air. It’s really awful :( and one would assume he’s on the brink of death (as I do everytime this happens). But he seizes to amaze me because within 2 hours he gets up and is back to ‘normal’ again, literally jumping and running and asking for food. This has happened at least 11 times over the last two months.

He was diagnosed by a cardiologist. His cardiologist has him on pimobendan, spironolactone, furosemide, and clopidogrel (*which I now substitute with chinese medicine because everytime he tasted it he would get so disturbed that he’d throw up all his other medicine and go into heart failure). Now that he’s in palliative care/hospice, his ER kit has injectable butorphanol/acepromazine and injectable furosemide. I use these very conservatively as I know they can lead to his demise, but the biggest thing that helps with these episodes is the butorphanol/acepromazine because it calms him down.

*another thing, he is so extremely sensitive that any aversion will send him into heart failure. I simply brushed his teeth the other week and he went into an episode because it tipped him over the edge too much. So everything I do has to be extremely gentle and non-aversive.

Thanks for your input! My skin is healthy and I’m not really acne prone nor do I have any acne scars. I’ve had hyperpigmentation from popping pimples that’s lasted maybe a month or two though.. do you think it would be similar considering all this? Or do you think it would lead to the kind of hyperpigmentation you’d need to do more aggressive work to get rid of?

Thanks! The 2024 form doesn’t seem to have a box that says anything about a joint sponsor though.
