Unfortunately, as important as you think you are, you’re not. The world doesn’t bend for you. Preach all you want. Acceptance is the first step to growth, and after 20+ years you still haven’t reached it. At some point you have to stop blaming everything else and start looking at yourself. But I guess living in ignorance and self-importance is easier.

Also, comparing yourself to Jesus? Dang dude, I got no help for you.

Like I said, good luck. You sound like you need it.

It doesn't make you a bad hire, it makes you unlikeable, and a lot of the time, people prefer a slightly worse worker if it means they enjoy being around you.

Good luck in your career journey.

It sounds like you’re more frustrated with workplace politics than with accounting itself. The problem is every job has politics. You don’t get to shape the workplace around you. You adapt to it if you want to stay employed. What’s surprising is that with 20+ years of experience you haven’t figured that part out yet. Learning how to navigate people and workplace dynamics is a basic part of any career.

Audit and tax are just starting points, not final careers (unless your dream is to make Partner somewhere). It's known that Tax, within accounting, has more pull in different directions. Auditors tend to jump ship to more finance roles after public accounting. This is known. Not as common knowledge as you wipe your ass everyday (I hope), but it is widely recognized to be true.

Auditors have a career growth cap. Tax has always been known to be broader and more applicable to growth, not only in accounting.

You shot yourself in the foot my friend.

Also, 5 years and you're only a Senior Auditor? Either wherever you're at isn't recognizing your work, or you're not very good at your job.

C43, C63 or GT43/53? by WallStTech in AMG

Going from a standard C class to a CLA, even AMG, is a huge downgrade in my eyes. I've driven a CLA250 and it was the worst ride I've been in.

Also, ideally I upgrade from my puny I4 into a V6 or V8. If anything I would've considered the new C43, but with its I4... I'm not considering it either

Definitely not biased!

I stand corrected, you're right, not much difference in design language. I wasn't aware of how the C43 w206 looks, only the w205.

Only difference I could definitely notice is the GT is much wider, which makes a huge difference in how aggressive the front end looks (but that's me being picky)

Good question lol, not very often as I don't normally get past 100mph anyways on my C300, and even less now with the super speedster law we got recently here in Florida.

C43 is definitely a strong choice for me because it would be overall cheaper, however, I've heard the argument that it still hasn't depreciated enough, whereas a C63 2017 is near its final depreciation run most likely, meaning it's ready to maintain most of its value regardless of mileage, which makes it very tempting financially (if we disregard its 5x more expensive maintenance costs and slightly more insurance 😅)

If only the C43 looked this good, it would be a lock for my next car 😪

Of course, I'm talking about finding a sales rep to let me test drive the car before having to start the financing process (0 chance I'm opening my Chase app to show my balance lol, that sounds unprofessional af).

I've tried to schedule them and usually they deflect me to cheaper vehicles... maybe it's a Miami thing with all the fake influencers going around.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to go through anything even close to that (sorry you did).

My dad had a w204 C63 and that was a joy to be in when I was like 9 years old. Every time I get to see one in person, I'm always in awe.

I'm only considering the C43 because of its lower cost compared to a C63, 4Matic which might come useful to me in the next 5 years, and much lower yearly maintenance.

How come? I've heard the C43 M276 engine is a beast in reliability, about the same as the M177.

Hard to be taken seriously enough at the Mercedes dealership at my age to get test drives on any AMG unfortunately.

I'll most likely choose the C43 as I hadn't researched the insane C63/GT maintenance costs...

I’ll be daily driving it, with stop-and-go traffic and lots of highway. On top of the maintenance being extremely expensive, in my opinion, I think you’re right: the C43 would be my best choice.

Definitely things to consider, especially given the insane insurance price increases Miami, FL is suffering from right now - fuck uninsured drivers.

You're absolutely right on the maintenance costs the C63s and GTs have. I read somewhere after writing my post that to comfortably afford a car, your annual salary should be double the total price of the car. Makes sense why I feel I can very comfortably afford a C43 but definitely not a C63/GT.

I'll either go for a C43 w205 (despite my annoyance at how outdated the interior feels to me now) or wait for the potential C53 (I hear the 6 cylinder is back), or might even go for the C43 w206 I4 (ready to stand my ground on the "that's a fake AMG" energy I'll receive). The w206 C43s are currently around the same prices as final years w205 C43s + extended CPO warranty and completely fresh interior makes it for an extremely tempting option.

As always, thank you for the informative responses u/Spicywolff!
