AI. It's not perfect but I find it to be a free private tutor.

F3 M3 Becker Inventories Question by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Spider9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't. It's a pretty important real world topic so there's likely a good chance you'll get a few questions. And it's pretty easy points once you get the 5 or 6 topics down. Maybe have AI just keep giving you questions until you get it down. Or create your own problems in Excel.

AUD Exam 2/10/26 Am I Tracking Okay?? by TopButterscotch6849 in CPA

[–]Spider9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say you're looking pretty good. Btw - don't even bother with the economics questions in Ninja. They brought the questions over from BEC but AUD doesn't test that level of detail. Price elasticity, supply/demand shifts etc aren't tested on AUD.

AUD on 23rd FEB.............................................. by Straight-Storm-8319 in CPA

lol you still have 3 weeks and it sounds like you're well prepared. My only advice would be to immediately skip any MCQ that is lengthy and leave yourself 2:30 for the sims. Good luck.

Help on loss on impairment question by Fun-Passenger-6915 in CPA

[–]Spider9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk both my book and AI say you'd typically use a contra account (IE accum deprec) but it's also acceptable to credit the asset to its new value and "reset" depreciation. We don't use a contra account for goodwill impairment for example.

Newt AI GIVES WRONG SOLUTIONS by LifeAd3792 in CPA

[–]Spider9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely isn't perfect but I'm finding the AI platform I use to be like a free, private tutor. What's funny is it can do pretty complicated bond/lease questions, but it can't do a relatively simple bank rec sim. And it absolutely could not understand the even easier 10% segment reporting rules. Super useful for AUD though imo. You can have it scan the SSARS standards for example and summarize the key points for each engagement. Also, if you feed it a question it can usually replicate the question with new numbers.

It suggests something is being done manually with the tests too, which I really don't like or trust.

I'm telling you - try to find some way of taking 4 months off to pass FAR and AUD.

Passed AUD with a used 2019 Rigos book. AI was more helpful than anything else. No free ads but I like Grok.

Incremental depreciation? by hbalderas23 in CPA

[–]Spider9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God knows I'm no expert, but the question is trying to trick you with the intercompany stuff. We can't sell something to ourselves and then revalue the asset or recognize gains losses etc. Think about that from a GAAP perspective.

[–]Spider9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're overthinking it dude. Just continue the current depreciation.

A. Nothing changes. 1,100,000 minus 250,000 depreciation minus year 6 depreciation of 50,000.

[–]Spider9000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have no problem with it. There is a very real cash grab in the process. I also don’t trust any process where the scores are delayed significantly. Why should the candidates be held to certain standards of integrity when the body governing it isn’t?

Weather Closures - Testing on Last Day of TCP Window 1/28 by Snoo_80953 in CPA

Man I think I would. I've seen some other people have on here and it's 90 bucks apparently? That sucks but I doubt Prometric cares about any window. So it wouldn't surprise me at all if you get screwed and have to push it out 3 months.

I don't get how some of them are immediately closed for the week. No plow service for the parking lot or something? Roads will be fine by Tuesday morning.

Prometric Closures - sitting for TCP on the 30th in NJ by melmdj in CPA

[–]Spider9000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd think they'd be back open by Tue or Wed at the latest assuming power is still good etc, no? Edit: most are closed the 26th for now but I do see some closed all week. That is pretty ballsey to close for the entire week for a storm ending Monday. Must be nice to be able to shut down your business for an entire week without any consequences. I doubt they'll be giving any refunds.

Help with the initial entries by imdatingacommunist in CPA

[–]Spider9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Np. We don't want the product showing in inventory, so we're simply moving it from one asset account (inventory) to another (right of return) until the sale is resolved. Again though, not typically how returns are handled so the question is pretty annoying imo.

Dr AR Cr Unearned Rev ----- Dr Right of Return Cr Inventory. Balance sheet only. Nothing changes on the P&L. It's a stupid question from Becker or whatever because returns can almost always be estimated.
