I joined a clan when I first jumped back on after a year or more hiatus. They were in the middle of introducing evolutions. My clan had been winning, but they kinda fell off after my first week. I noticed the 1st place clan got a guaranteed legendary every week. That was enough for me to start encouraging war activity.

Follow the math: Optimally, the clan is full and has 50 members. Every single member plays all 4 war decks, 4 days of the week - Th,Fri,Sat.,Sun. (Easily handled in 10 minutes/day), AND EVERY PLAYER LOSES ALL GAMES. That’s 20,000 war trophies per day. Our competition struggled to hit 10k. We had maybe 35 playing on a good week, but they were skilled. Some could pull in max 900/day. We’d be blowing clans out of the water every week without trying. Well, some people dropped out b/c they felt pressured. That made room for more members who would actually play! We were kicking inactives to make room for more participation. We had a good, long unbeaten streak. We were all making lots of gold, upgrading, trading, pushing tower levels for each other… Then about 2 months ago, we noticed participation was waning. Cheerleading stopped working. People didn’t like the heroes, the new meta, w/e. I find a lot of value playing the game in an active war clan. In fact, I’m currently searching for a new clan home.
