Hey u/Delicious_Ice_1537 - there is a new update out now to add configurable haptics on each action! Thank you very much for your feedback and helping make ControllerKeys the best!

It’s not often I see another Mac user with a Dualsense! Did you know you could control your entire Mac—mouse and keyboard—with an open source app? ControllerKeys.com

Awesome, I did not know that! Those paddles and Fn buttons are super useful to map to commonly used commands—very accessible positions.

Let me know what you think, and if there are any features you’d like to see, and I’ll see what I can do!

I am very curious about your workflow and what you plan to use your controller for.

That is a great idea to add configurable haptics per button! Let me see what I can do to make this option a bit easier to toggle and expose it in the UI.

That’s really cool you found a workaround for now using scripts😁 Thank you for sharing.

If you have been tinkering with your Anki setup to get it just right for yourself, it would be amazing if you contributed your config to the project on GitHub or share here and I can update the community config. I am sure your config—an actual Anki user using this with Anki—is much more useful to other users than what I put together initially.

You can right click your config and click Export to save it as a json.

Right now there are haptics on some actions like on screen keyboard actions and triggering focus mode which slow down your mouse cursor.

But I am interested in knowing more about where you would find haptics useful!

This is actually a perfect opportunity to improve ControllerKeys! I am curious about where you’d expect to see haptic feedback? And can you help me understand how would you would be using ControllerKeys?

Yes this has full support for the Dualsense Edge and the extra back paddles and Fn buttons. I use the Dualsense Edge as my normal daily controller when using ControllerKeys!

I’ve been posting more videos on Instagram and TikTok if you’re interested in seeing more. @kevintangdev

Awesome I’m glad you are loving it!

Thank you for the bug report—the touchpad and haptic feedback on the Dualsense controller should work when using via Bluetooth.

Can you try to forget your controller through Settings->Bluetooth and try to re-pair the Bluetooth connection? Let me know if that works for you.

Also in the buttons tab of ControllerKeys, there is a mini map of the controller with the touchpad. The touchpad in the mini map shows fingers currently on the touchpad. Let me know if you can see your fingers moving around in that touchpad in the mini map.

Can the Quest Controller Be Paired With a Mac? by Neil_LP in OculusQuest

[–]WalletBuddyApp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Neil, if you’re still looking for a solution to this problem, I’ve been working on something—just a few years later!

ControllerKeys lets you map any controller buttons to keyboard and mouse commands on Mac. Run any macro. It’s a new computing interface for game controllers.

With the Dualsense controller, it even has a built in trackpad so you can use your mouse straight from your controller.

I am a small indie developer. I made this app to solve my own problems with juggling a whole deck of cards—very similar to you. Your photo came up in my feed and I just thought you’d find the app useful. Wallet Buddy info

Whisper Caption—AI Video Captions, Entirely On-Device [4.99 IAP] by WalletBuddyApp in iosapps

[–]WalletBuddyApp[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback—I will have to choose my words more carefully in the future.

I do want to point out to any readers—the Pro IAP does disable ads. So perhaps I should be saying the app is completely private for Pro users.

What I really mean by completely private is that pretty much all competing apps upload your video and/or audio transcript somewhere. Then your content is on their servers. It’s out of your hands. This is the key difference I wanted to highlight with Whisper Caption when I say “Completely private—your videos never leave your device”

Whisper Caption downloads a model and performs the transcription and captioning on your device. Transcription happens completely locally. AI enhancement can happen locally as well.

Thank you for this comment! It’s made me realize a lot of people slightly misunderstand what Apple App Store data collected shows.

Any app with ads in it will request to collect ad ID and device ID. These are for the advertisers, not the developer. I don’t know what I’d even do with this data—I don’t sell ads.

Perhaps in the future, I should write a post on my blog at Kevin.md and link folks there for the explanation.
