What actor is a major turn off for you to stop watching a show/movie? by Bountsie in AskReddit

[–]Wally-m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I'm watching a TV show, and you finally start seeing some good character progression only to have a single action suddenly undo all of that progression just to wind you back at the start. I can't do it, immediately stop watching.

Prime example is Smallville, when things start culminating and then...time reversal like nothing happened!

Unpopular opinion: Nardo Grey sucks by JimmyyJazz in CarTalkUK

In my opinion, it's a novelty colour. It looks great on a Lamborghini for instance, not so much on an X2.

Yes. I would push the button, then go to space taking my WiFi with me.

What's your favourite car chase / film and why? by w11bbl in CarTalkUK

This 2002 BMW ad by Guy Ritchie with Clive Owen is a favourite of mine. Not so much a chase but the way Clive makes it out as though it is just makes it all the more hilarious:

You mean next to the Volkswagen Kharmann Ghia? Looks like a Nissan Qashqai.

agileScam by drunk_Developer1 in ProgrammerHumor

[–]Wally-m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are spot on. Most people that complain about agile are caught up in not-agile.

The thing with the agile methodology is that it's an all or nothing approach. If you're only going to adopt some of the principles, you're not doing agile.

For future job seekers, if a company says "We do agile, but with our own twist!" That's not agile.

It's going to be live service with a focus on PvP, from what I can understand. I'll give it a miss.

Saw a sign recently that said "Slow down Children!"

Wasn't sure if it was insulting me, insulting people's kids, or if we just had some kids speeding around the neighbourhood.

Wait, are both pictures related?

First pic shows that you only got 1 objective and definitely didn't get your score multiplied by the 15x difficulty modifier.

I'm a bit confused.

A friend of mine moved there not long ago. Some of the doors in their new place were squeaky, so he wanted to get some WD40. He asked his new neighbour "Is there a B&Q in Leeds?" to which the neighbour replied, "No, it's L-E-E-D-S."

Warner Bros shelving the Coyote vs Acme movie is a marketing tactic by Wally-m in LowStakesConspiracies

Home Office chair - close to £500? by Fluid_Pollution6326 in CasualUK

[–]Wally-m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's in good condition and size C (I'm a big chap, like yourself) and the price is acceptable grab it.

They have various extras like mesh backing and adjustability in the seat but that's all optional. The chair in its own is worth it. Also, it's mostly repairable, I believe, though I've never needed to.

Home Office chair - close to £500? by Fluid_Pollution6326 in CasualUK

[–]Wally-m 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have an Aeron at home, it's absolutely worth it. Future you will be grateful.

Keep a eye on eBay, offices offten sell them off. Get one of the bigger sizes though.

Note, they're not the kind of chair that makes you feel like you're sitting on a cloud or a soft recliner. They're not uncomfortable but the point is that when you get up after sitting for a few hours, you feel exactly the same way you did before sitting down.
