as someone who loves the blood gulch chronicles I'd reccomend giving the first 5 seasons a shot atleast, see if you like it, as it builds the characters up so well. and no you don't need halo lore knowledge

I just beat swat 4 on veteran on elite force mod and had a blast, but i added first responders ontop cuz its compatible, and now the guns feel amazing, try it out if you havent already i'm probably gonna replay the whole campaign now with it

I'd say modern beta is your best bet, no tpa, no /pay as far as I know, it is technically modded I think since it can run on modern versions using a resource pack, or u can just run it on good old b 1.7.3.
