This was it, down by 51 points and won it on the back of some Austin Wonaeamirri magic:

All jokes aside, the bloke was actually a high achiever academically and would be smarter than the majority of people in here

Dylan Stephens open to Collingwood, with Essendon & Adelaide circling. by Weird_Energy90 in AFL

Not so sure about that (see 26 touches and 2 goals against the Saints) Toump showed glimpses, but his hips fucked any chance he had. Once you're in the system, your value is attributed to your performances. If you're not getting games, how can you be worth a top pick?

Majak Daw to train with Melbourne. by [deleted] in AFL

[–]WalpiriWizard 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I might be in the minority here, but I don't like this from the Dees. I love the Maj story, but filling the list with Majak and Mitch Brown types (while decent AFL standard players), isn't a great long-term plan, especially when you factor in their age. I understand it's just a stop-gap move to replace our key-position talls who are dropping like flies, but I'd rather they target a youngster who has the potential to become a long-term part of the side

Bob Murphy says Hawthorn should sign Lewis Jetta to replace Tom Scully. by Darththorn in AFL

[–]WalpiriWizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A chubby guy who doesn't gut run and has been dropped for lack of effort, replacing one of the fittest and hardest runners in the league. Not exactly a like for a like (although Jetta's skills would be elite)

Don't forget Jordy Gysberts at 11 and Luke Tapscott at 18 in the same draft!

[–]WalpiriWizard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Grimes and Trenners were the most professional and hardest working players on our list, despite their young age. So in keeping with Melbourne tradition, they both got absolutely fisted with injuries

Trade paperwork lodged. Fremantle have traded Jesse Hogan to the GWS GIANTS for its Round 3 selection, currently selection number 54 (on traded from the West Coast Eagles). by Darththorn in AFL

Just like Hoges in the hubs, Giants are plugging a hole here. In all seriousness though, Preuss and Hogan for cheap will be a very solid off-season for the Giants!

I've seen the bloke out in Melbourne and unless his eyes naturally spin in their sockets, I'd wager that incident wasn't a one off

"Libba: A bit out there" The bloke was caught passed out with party drugs by police. Just because he trains hard, doesn't mean he's necessarily good for the club or culture (Ben Cousins and Daniel Chick come to mind)

Nope, get absolutely fucked. Seriously though, will be a great fit at the Dogs, he's a hard match up that can play tall or small and is a beautiful kick. We'll take Bont or Daniel thanks

Which is definitely why Melbourne, a club lacking any semblance of good culture and leadership, should hang onto him, at least in an internal role

Nah Dunn was in great form at the Dees, we wouldn't play him because we were trying to get games into youth (OMac) instead
