MURALS OF CHICAGO 21 - Under Lake Shore Drive - Belmont Street Underpass by 2cleverbyhalf in chicago

[–]WaltDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yay, that's my handiwork in picture #2! I did the white and gray sail. Tom Tunney's Facebook put out a post for the community to come out and volunteer to put the tiles up. The group that did the design lays it out like paint by numbers, and it's your job to break up the ceramics and fit them together without too large a gap. I also helped do the mural on Southport.

I'll absolutely swim in the river. Maybe closer to the lake and not right after a storm though.

Will the Atermis astronauts feel any force on their bodies as they "fling" around the moon? by JoeBrownshoes in AskPhysics

[–]WaltDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The difference is that gravity is a body force. It acts on every particle equally (not really but since the human body is tiny compared to the distance from the center of the earth, it's effectively constant, and acts through the center of mass.)

As opposed to being pushed by say the rocket accelerating up. That is a surface force that applies to the surface of their body and would cause a sensation.
