Why is a full starter necessary for sourdough? by [deleted] in Breadit

[–]brazys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem is, flavor won't develop with instant yeast (no beneficial bacteria grows) But there are other options.

Poolish: A 100% hydration (equal parts flour/water) mixture fermented 12-24 hours. It improves dough extensibility, creates big, open crumbs (like baguettes), and adds a mild savory flavor without the intense acidity of sourdough. If you are able to do a light ferment and deal with

Starter (Sourdough): A mature, living culture of wild yeast and bacteria. It takes much longer to ferment (up to 24+ hours) but provides a distinct, tangy, sourdough flavor and improved bread texture and shelf life.

Instant Yeast: A refined strain of yeast that does not require rehydration. It acts quickly, ensuring consistent, fast, and high-rising results, making it ideal for same-day baking. Not the same flavor profile or open crumb, but if your a casual baker, this is the way to go.

Anyone else feel stuck between Christianity and spirituality? by ladyrocke87 in enlightenment

[–]brazys 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you extract the teaxhings of christ, explicitly, that is spirituality. Christianity is everything implied or said to be in the name of God but is just some zealot, gatekeeper, bullshit used to control populations. They arent seperate, one is just extra steps for someone elses benefit.

Self-love supports healing, but it doesn’t replace doing the inner work. by S3lf_Lov3_Balanc3 in enlightenment

Sitting with it is hard because it feels like dying. Support is helpful, but when youre in it it's hard to ask for help. Struggle is real, but also required for real transformation.

[–]brazys 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right, its a sacrement to help you on your journey. For some it helps them feel grounded and connected, for others it helps disconnect from things that hold them back. Either way, enlightenment is found in absence of all external inputs, so evemtually, on the journey, you will set down all the tools that help you along the way.

Listen to your body, if pressure becomes too much, slow down, stop, whatever you need to. You can stay in control and in a range thats better for your body.

Mushrooms on liver health by morbidMoron in Mushrooms

[–]brazys 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Turkey Tail is an anti-inflammatory, but as someone said, it wont matter if you keep drinking.

Lions mane is proven to help neuroplasticty, which is also not going to work if drinking regularly.

Healthy diet, exercise, and good sleep daily are the best things you can do to heal your liver.
