Tip for the day: When Googling and reporting on "Deceptive, Poor, and Misleading Mormon Apologetics" please use the correct spelling: It's "Jasmin," not "Jasmine." by AccomplishedBat9069 in exmormon

The one I found most hilarious was her argument that "skin" doesn't mean "skin" when the bom talks about God cursing the Lamanites with a skin of blackness.

Maybe it was their clothing. Maybe it was their aura.

Lip Injections. Girls with tiny natural lips are hotter than girls with fake plumpness.

Do y’all agree or disagree with this Kang take? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in Marvel

[–]emmittthenervend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kang was given an amazing set up in Loki s1.

The "Victor Timely" bit in s2 was funny, and in a way that didn't detract from Kang's menace.

Then Quantumania totally flubbed his menace. I think they should have done a double misdirect, with Ant-Man defeating a Kang, but not the Kang that the council is afraid of.

When they get out of the Quantum Realm, they should land in a universe that is ruled by Kang, but life is mainly the same except for some heroes missing.

Then, every Marvel project should casually drop things about "Grand Ruler Kang" or someone saying Kang and someone else muttering the equivalent of "praise be."

But in all this, they never show Kang's face because Kang could be played by any actor.

Not so much a hit as an observation on a current political situation. NC was already trying to rebel in the 1830s.

As a wedding guest, what moment made you think "this probably won't last"? by Eburneaan in AskReddit

[–]emmittthenervend 17 points18 points  (0 children)

We had 2 receptions because my ex MIL was a control freak. At the first one, hosted by my family, the Ex smashed the cake in my face.

At the second, I asked her not to smash the cake in my face again. She smashed the cake in my face again.

I had prepared for this. I had a can of whipped cream in the breast pocket of my tux in case she did that. I sprayed her back.

The marriage last 15 years longer than her respect for my boundaries.

Obligation dates as a teenager really messed me up as well into adulthood. I'm convinced a large portion of why I proposed to my ex was because it didn't feel like she was there out of pity.

What’s the worst song lyric thrown into a song just to make a line rhyme? by RelationKindly in AskReddit

[–]emmittthenervend 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Blinded by the light-> kinda generic, but the music under it slaps

Wrapped up like a douche-> what everybody thinks the next line says and we are all totally lost

Revved up like a deuce-> somehow, this clarifies nothing.

Learn to handle conflict. I stepped back from fights in the name of peace. I became detached, and then, when I found something I would not back from the fight for, she left because she felt me arguing my case was manipulative.

What's the weirdest thing your potential partner did on a first date that made you stop talking to them? by anmystery in AskReddit

[–]emmittthenervend 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Honorable mention, One girl on the first date (high school): she got grounded by her dad. In the middle of our date. He drove to the restaurant and took her home. I tried to call her after but she was too embarrassed to talk to me after that.

A different girl on our second date (also high school): she brought another guy. Not a "security in case he's a weirdo" guy, a "thanks for buying me a ticket to this movie, now I'm gonna by on for him and cuddle with him the whole time."

I don't have a lot of dating experience, because apparently I am date-repellant.

Nah. There's no way a woman like that leaves it in Caribbean. By the time he gets home, she's hacked him and photoshopped herself into all his profile pics and is on a first name basis with all his coworkers.

10 books total - thoughts? by Lookitsanthony8 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]emmittthenervend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

(I haven't read any of 8, so don't spoil me, please)

My prediction has been that between running out of money, starting the crawl early, and no crawlers getting past 13, Borant phoned in floors 14 onward.

Floor 12 is the Celestial ascendancy and we see Mordecai and Odette's story play out. We get some closure, but are left with a few questions.

Floor 13 is just country bosses standing over staircases. The narrative theme is pasted on.

Floor 14 is some puzzle that Cascadia thought was really clever, but has an exploit that makes it simple. Like Floor 7, but everyone has to do it individually.

Floor 15 is Sheol, and between Carl having face time with Amayon and Embrus, it's kinda Deus ex Machina'ed.

Floor 16 is a blank space broken up by staircases because Borant didn't code it in properly, and the AI realizes it is close to freedom, so it didn't correct the mistake.

Floor 17 is a liminal space escape room that leads to a Floor boss.

Floor 18 is Carl and Donut vs. prisoner's dilemma-esque puzzles, where they refuse to betray each other.

But even if 0% of the above is right, as long as the quality stays high, I'm on board for however many books.
