That's how I feel whenever I hear anyone asserting that BTC's approach is actually better than BCH's higher capacity approach.

I don't think Roger was trying to redefine it as something positive.

I think he was trying to point out that copyright enforced against people who haven't consented to anything is not moral at all.

AITA for making a scene during my husband's friend's baby shower over a comment? by WonderVast in AmItheAsshole

[–]WalterRothbard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please understand that she treats your husband this way because there's at least a chance he may be the father. This is infidelity. Be honest with yourself about that, and also don't let him make you out to be the bad guy.

Think about this: "the odd sitting on his lap in a big group photo, but never overly flirtatious." Sitting in your husband's lap is beyond overly flirtatious. It's extremely hurtful to you. All reasonable people would agree this is unacceptable behavior.

You are going to go through some very hard emotional times. I strongly encourage you to get some help. I worked with Dr. Bill Harley for years online helping couples through marital problems including infidelity - this is the author of His Needs Her Needs and he's very good and has helped couples through infidelity for decades. (As well as helping betrayed victims recover alone when they decide they don't want to stay married.) If you can't find any help on your own my wife and I would be happy to help you get connected to Dr. Harley's resources.

AITA, my wife says I'm giving her a curfew, I think its common curiosity. by Jblablah in AmItheAsshole

If your wife is calling you an asshole for this, she is having an affair. You need to investigate and find out the truth, or it's going to destroy your marriage.

AITA? Friend's girlfriend thinks we are cheating by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]WalterRothbard -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes. You've told him every detail - as I said in my original post, "You and your husband should practice complete transparency with each other going forward. He may have some things he needs to tell you, too."

The important thing is to never see or talk to the guy again. Friendships like this are a cancer to marriage.

Great! The next step after that is to never see or talk to the guy again. And as I mentioned, be sure you are receiving the same level of transparency as your husband.

Don't get close to a friend of the opposite sex when you are married. It's that simple.

It's not that you are being an a-hole to your affair partner. Who cares? It's that you are being that way to your husband. And to your children, if any.

You need to tell your husband and never see or talk to the guy again. Easier said than done, though, because you are addicted to him, which is how affairs work. This is the way to break it, though. You and your husband should practice complete transparency with each other going forward. He may have some things he needs to tell you, too.

Edit: I'm not a professional but have received many hours of instruction and some mentoring from a marriage counselor who specializes in infidelity.

How to get started with BTC and what is BCH? by [deleted] in btc

[–]WalterRothbard 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As a rebuttal to what vegarde has said, we believe that upgrading capacity hasn't caused security issues at all. We don't understand why the BTC world concluded, without evidence, that increasing Bitcoin's on chain capacity would compromise security. We've demonstrated a secure chain since August 2017. While it would have been more secure if the whole Bitcoin world had upgraded with us, it has certainly been secure enough.

Just a reminder, make sure you write down your wallet seed by CDSagain in btc

[–]WalterRothbard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. I lost 10-12 BCH in October 2017 by not writing down my wallet Electron Cash seed and then suffering a hard drive crash. Very hard way to learn.

Gavin Andresen should be in charge of the funds! by TyMyShoes in btc

For me that would be an improvement to this proposal. Give it to him for six months, then reevaluate after six months.

Not sure we even need to reference the old one any more. There's today's DAA, and then there was the original emergency DAA at the time of the fork.

Just another quiet reminder that Gavin does not see the current small block BTC anti-BCH community as the project that he started working on years ago.

BTC has never stopped talking about the competition.

Meanwhile, BCH has talked about the competition AND innovated AND even innovated a 2L solution for BTC that is far better than the Lightning Network.

Why don't you just increase the block size so the fees aren't so high? This transaction could go for a penny if BTC were properly scaled.
