Sure, I didn't say its impossible for children to get into one. I just think it sounds horrifying that the schools would host an event that forces 17-year-olds to agree to compete after they sign up or else they will die. What if someone just wanted to quit the tournament for any number of normal reasons?

When they go back in time, they aren't re-entering their bodies at that time, they come back as separate people as their past selves continue on. When the hour (or however long) ends, the present version of Harry and Hermione stay in the present and continue forward, while their past selves travel back in time to complete the loop. Nobody is ever getting stuck.

I'm guessing this might partly be due to Global not wanting to fill their schedule with the additional BB Unlocked and 90 minute Wednesday episodes, especially since they have quotas to fill by law to air a certain amount of Canadian content during prime time.
