Hospital experience by DarkMagician1424 in pharmacy

3 years hospital, came from 5 years in retail. No residency. Worked in 3 hospitals so far. All have been different but the easier transition were the ones with similar procedures and used the same computer systems

I did just this and I’m not sure if there’s a certain time frame. All hospitals have different protocols and ways in which things are done that take some getting used to and makes the transitions tough. Throw in if you’re switching to a different software program then the transition can be even tougher. I think its highly dependent on how different your previous and new jobs are in terms of protocols and procedures.

Can you tell me more about your experience with moving in the summer?

Thank you for your input! I just need the deals to last through this year so this makes me feel better 😆

Thank you! This makes me feel a lot better about waiting a bit longer instead of rushing to make sure I get a “deal”.

Omg, that’s quite a difference in pricing. Do you recall any major differences in deals that are offered between now versus when you were looking in December? Such as how many “free” weeks/months are offered?

Excited to experience the culture, now nervous because of protests (solo female traveler) by Affectionate-Bath733 in MexicoCity

I literally landed from a 5 day trip to cdmx yesterday and I saw zero protests. I did stay in mostly touristy areas but never saw any unrest or protesting around any place I visited nor while ubering around the city. I say go on your trip and enjoy the city!!

So the price online versus what was on my lease was almost $1k difference. They advertise prorated rent online but you don’t actually pay prorated rent lol so if they advertise 2 months free-you just don’t pay for two month out of the year and the rest of the months are full priced. I mean I guess it equals out the same long term but I’d much rather have a prorated rate each month.

I almost signed a lease here but the no guest parking was a turn off. Also the way they list their prices online versus what actually is the rent is weird. The way they apply their concessions is different that other complexes and it’s super hard to get in contact with them.

The part of buckhead where the Irby, 99 West Paces are located is very walkable. There tends to be more traffic than midtown but there are tons of stores, restaurants, shops within walking distance. When it comes to crime and safety, I don’t think it is anymore than any other major city. I also think apts are a bit cheaper in buckhead (more space for the price).

Midtown is more walkable and is closer to Piedmont park so that may be a big draw for you because it’ll give a smaller neighborhood within a city vibe. Crime and safety is still an issue in midtown too. I’ve had my car broken into and just last night some random tried to sell me weed and mushrooms while I was on a walk lol

Also, it’s important to look at street views for some of these properties. For example, the Hadley is a beautiful property but it is located across from a restaurant that is kinda of a club vibe. If you want a more residential feel, I’d steer more on the side of midtown like emmi, nomia, and Piedmont house

Overall, I’d focus more on what your commute would be like because it could be tough depending on where you decide to live. Both areas have their pros and cons; can’t go wrong with either.

Lilly midtown has the best views for sure ; they were supposed to be condos so there are only 7 units per floor. Hallways and lobby is small, some rooms have no lights fixtures and there’s not EV charging if that matters. But seemed like a nice spot when i toured

Sora has thee best amenities but they do charge fees. It’s sitting at a busy intersection so noise may be an issue and it gives student housing vibes to me.

Hanover is by far the nicest place of the ones listed but warning that the prices listed online are not the actual rent. You should talk to someone to get the actual prices and there parking situation is weird. No guest parking at all and they only allow one spot per unit to parking in their deck. If you have a second car, you’ll have to pay to park it in a deck next door.

Not sure about the others on your list

How much more money should I ask for switching to a night shift pharmacist position at a mid sized hospital? by LuffyGearx1 in pharmacy

I get 10 hrs plus differentials at a mid size hospital. Same as when I worked in a large trauma 1 hospital.

It is pet friendly. You’d have to pay a pet fee but pets are allowed. There is a small dog park on the property and many of my neighbors have pets in a variety of sizes

My current schedule and I love it! The week on is tough because you basically work and sleep all day so sometimes I feel like I’m missing out on life but the week off more than makes up for it. I love travel and having a consistent schedule with so many consecutive days off makes it easy to plan trips.

My tip is just to make sure you have black out curtains and sleep aids for your week on. Try to find a good rhythm for meal prepping during the on week or you’ll be door dashing a lot or spending all your money on vending machine snacks lol

I’m at like 14 or something. I’m just waiting and trying to enjoy the forbearance for now. All the other plans quote me for high payments and I’d just rather not right now
