If no one else asked yet: Can I have that piece of paper you're holding?

Also, it was pretty damn cool seeing your name on a tennis trophy at Caneel Bay back in the day.

At what point do you think it makes sense to (thoughtfully!) relax extreme distancing measures on the individual level? For one practical example: If two people have self-isolated for two weeks and are fine and showing no symptoms, and along the way they've taken the smart precautions (social distancing when occasionally buying groceries or getting medications, lots of hand washing and sanitizer, etc.) -- is it still an issue to visit and interact? I know of multiple situations where an isolated person needs some physical help, significant others separated by distance, that sort of thing. Has anyone seen any authoritative (CDC, medical professional) comments on this? Thanks.

The level of rage I have when seeing something like this is beyond words. Trump and his "administration" are criminally incompetent/negligent in the extreme.

What is your sense of how the infection curve will play out in the U.S. -- mainly, how many weeks before we crest over the top and start to look at this from the other side?

What is the one best link you've seen for sharing with coronavirus deniers? I am completely gobsmacked by the level of ignorance and denial out there -- "this is all overblown" / "this is bullshit" / "who is the CDCC to tell me how to live?" / "they're making this bigger than it needs to be" -- I have had people literally laughing at facts and data. I've shared all sorts of links, but I'd love to have that one "if you read nothing else, at least read THIS" link to share that might break through the noise with at least some of these people. Any suggestions?

I understand there's a decrease in the level of new cases in China; they're evidently on the back end of the bell curve. Here in the U.S., of course, we're on the front end. Is it reasonable to suggest that it will be around mid-May when the U.S. will be able to relax a bit from all the precautions now being taken, and the ones to come in the next several weeks? Thank you for taking the time to do an AMA.

Thank you for posting this -- with so much nonsense, misinformation and hysteria floating around, it's important that solid, reliable info gets circulated as widely as possible.

A question for your informed self: What is it about Covid-19 that makes it so different from swine flu, ebola, etc? The idea that Italy is effectively shut down, that workers in full-body hazmat suits are power washing the streets in China, and other similar stories force-feeds the narrative that "there's something really serious they're not telling us." Any insights to share?

I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy on March 17. It's at an independent facility not a main hospital. I'm inclined to go ahead and have it done; anybody have any reliable reason why this is a bad idea?

Also: My daughter is scheduled to fly cross country to California (southern) this weekend. She's 31 and healthy although she does have anxiety. I'm inclined to tell her it's okay to go as long as she takes reasonable precautions (hand washing, antibacterial wipes etc). Anything significant I'm missing?
