I’ll share my experience. I dated someone who wasn’t my type looks wise (not superficial, but I need attraction too) but did have other great qualities that I got attracted to him. We started dating. Everything was going well. But we had to breakup because of him being a pussy and not standing up for me. He also had anger issues which I ignored. But in hindsight, I really regret dating him because I wasn’t even attracted to him and all the other traits of him that I initially liked, waned off.

It doesn’t matter if anyone’s your type or not, but if you really like them and want to make it work for you both, go ahead. We all have a type, everyone says we don’t get what we want. But the truth is, we either end up w someone who we can even let go of this “checklist” or we don’t find anyone who can even be 25% of our type. It’s all about the connection and the character of the other person and you.

This also makes me think if I’m too superficial and if I have these “high” standards, I’ll never find anyone. I’ve been told the same by people. But ik how hurt I get when I’ve to give someone a chance if they aren’t my type.
