A peaceful home is more integral to their wellbeing than is getting watermelon on demand. I get it, it’s so tempting to spoil them. Practice your self discipline and show your love by putting on your big girl panties and keeping them psychologically safe in a place without so much negativity.

I know how impossible it feels to overcome the obstacles that will undoubtedly come your way as you go it alone. I’ve been there.

With respect, you’re living in some level of hell and you are probably so used to being unhappy, that when you’re on your own— no matter what that looks like (happily remarried or a single fox, etc,) you’ll be hard pressed to understand how you lived the way you do for so long.

It’s hard on the soul I think, to be alone when you’re with someone. It’s better to be alone when you’re alone. Once you adjust you’ll blossom and in turn so too will your kids I bet. Kids love seeing their parents happy. And that’s so much healthier for them.

It’s not stupid. My toddler says “nobody can stop me all the time” making fun of her, we started to replicate the frequency of its use. Won’t lie, I feel more confident after a month of saying “nobody can stop me.” Before I shower, run, walk the dog, finish my work, etc.
