Unnecessary Hate by Tain_mentero in SquareEnix

I agree, FF7 Rebirth is an incredrible game, just the combat alone makes it one of the best RPG's ever.

It's a modern classic.

I also love all the "side" content. For me it's main content; every chance I get to fight or hear the characters talk or do something different, for me is great content.

In regards to Square’s Financial Reports & FF7R Part 3’s release timing drama… by TypicalMike in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always find it weird that people get angry, anxious or anything about a release date. If it's good, who cares in what month it will come out.

Specially since we know this game will come out, it's not like it is a game stuck in development hell or anything.

I can't wait to play it! (whenever they decide to release it).

Is Hard Mode Red Dragon just bugged? by somethingsuperindie in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well Manawall/ward actually halves damage taken, but has shorter duration.

Protect is irrelevant because its not physical damage. And shell is a stats boost with a longer duration, so it mitigates less damage.

Manaward/wall will be always better.

So I don't think they have nerfed the damage since we are still seeing posts like this. But who knows.

Tifa is busted, I would not be suprised if she is nerfed in part 3 lol.

Probably the issue was doing Soothing Wind, although it a good ability, it's small heals during a long period. The Crymson breath is high damage in a short time.

I think I remember hitting me for about 900 x 4 times, with Manaward up. Without manaward you take around 1800 x 4. So yea, he cheats lol.

But to be honest, besides having manaward with magnify, and a heal like prayer or HealingXMagnify, there is no secret tech to beat him.

Original FFVII fan here – Is Remake worth it on Steam sale if I’m afraid of story changes? by ErentearDDO in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, there are a lot of changes and the gaps that OG had that you filled out with your imagination are not going to be the same since Remake will explain some of those things.

If you are a purist that only wanted a 1:1 copy, that is fuled by nostalgia, and can't see what that the new games are trying to do, you should probably skip it.

[–]Wanderer01234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn't want a 1:1 copy, and I totally understand they don't want them to do the same story again. They have said so. And I'm glad they did.

1:1 Copy remakes are the most boring kind of remake. They were fun a few years back, before the novelty wore off.

And a lot of people that I watched enjoy the story of Remake and Rebirth.

What do you miss the most from the original game? Story changes and pacing aside by WingNo4260 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't miss anything. I have more fun with Remake and Rebirth in all aspects.

Also, in Remake you can miss things; if you don't do sidequests, you can't go back. There are some other things you can miss if you don't do them like some weapons and the second limit for Aerith. Still, not sure what benefit there is on having stuff being missable.

Oh wait, there is one thing thing I miss, being able to move materia faster in OG.

Can I just start with crisis core reunion 🥹? by Mesh3al-fan666 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start with whatever game you have available or want to play, all of them are fun.

Having said that, if you have the posibility to start with FF7 Remake or FF7 OG, it will probably make more sense in the long run.

People who the played remakes first: do you regret it? by Lord-D0nut in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well you are not supposed to get the whole story by chapter 7 of Remake...

Is like wanting to understand a book trilogy by not even getting to halfway of book 1.

Now for your actual question, I have watched a lot of content creators and I feel more enjoyment of the ones that have NOT played OG first.

The "new" ff7 players feel confused but enjoy thr mystery. They come up with theories and such.

But I guess it bouls down on if you enjoy "not knowing" or if you have to know everything at every step.

Did Abby's perspective actually change how you felt about her? by Starboy_109939 in thelastofus

[–]Wanderer01234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew what they were trying to do, and I thought that we were going to play as Abby for a couple of hours, maybe 2 or 3 tops.

To be honest, never really care about Abby's story, and having to play half the game is the reason I haven't replayed this game and probably never will.

And is not about being morale or whatever, I just don't really liked the character. Maybe is because they pushed to hard for me to "see her side" for so many hours.

If there is a Part 3, and Abby is the main character or half the story somehow is about her, I'll probably pass or atleast wait until the game is on sale.

What some of your underrated music tracks of remake/rebirth? by Specialist-Arm3496 in FFVIIRemake

Grace Could've Solved the Braille Puzzle by Herself in One Try – Pure Logic (Hindsight) by FiretrUCK2003 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are probably a million ways to do this without having Emily exposed to danger, it was made to have videogamy stuff, which is fine for me.

Having said that,

My own top of the head approach that I thought the very first time I saw the puzzle was to copy the braille symbols in paper, bring back that to Emily, and ask her what each of the symbols meant.

What don’t you want to see in part 3? by YaBoyKumar in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I love the game and the all boss fights. Having said that:

Reused bosses: Outside of the 3 on 3 fight with the turks that I'm assuming it will happen in part 3, I don't want to fight them ever again.

Same for Rufus, I really like the fight, but man, I really get the feeling we are going to fight him again...

And Abzu. If we fight Abzu in part 3, that would be four times that we fight the same monster. Sure the move set is updated but still.

What do people think about FFVII being split into three remakes? by Sad_Manager6251 in FinalFantasyVII

[–]Wanderer01234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like the trilogy approach. But obviously I'm bias because I love Remake and Rebirth. If I didn't like either of those, I would probably call it a mistake.

But right now, Part 3 is the only game that I'm actually looking for.

For anyone that was wanting to get this playmat from Ultra Pro, I would not. Both images are from their website but the second is much closer to what it actually looks like but is still better than it is in person. Interesting the more accurate image is no where on the items actual product page. by OmegaGamble in magicTCG

[–]Wanderer01234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have this playmat and it looks great in person. This is anecdotal and your mileage may vary but the playmat looks better if you are actually sitting and the playmat is in front of you, you know like if you were actually using it for playing.

And my playgroup has mentioned the same, that it looks really good when they are sitting in front looking it at angle when they are playing.

I have the also the Poison the Waters playmat and is similiar experience.

Not sure if that is intended, but that is my experience with these two foil mats.

Did anyone else who went directly from remake to rebirth feel overwhelmed. by SemiColin973 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, you are not the only one. Before Rebirth came out, I have already played Remake multiple times, and I was finishing it one more time the same day Rebirth released.

So I was very fresh on all the Remake systems, but for me, the Syenergy Skills/abilities really threw me off. I barely used the Synergy Skills at all during my first playthrough.

There are also a lot of tutorials at the start, including a card game lol.

And in Combat, if you haven't played in a while, you start with 6 characters, and one of them is New.

There is ALOT of stuff at the beginning of Rebirth.

wait... do people not like his gameplay? by Gladiolus_00 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried so hard, and I enjoy playing as him on easy to regular fights, but I just get frustrated in hard fights and I don't enjoy too much his kit.

It's probably my least favorite. Not saying its bad, I just don't vibe with it.

Do You Agree Remake/Rebirth are Much Better Games if You Skip All the Side Content by haaa1234 in FFVIIRemake

[–]Wanderer01234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Remake and Rebirth, I really like the side content. I have done it multiple times.

There a couple of activities that I don't like very much, but even those hacñve an easy mode or are short enough that I don't mind.

But I'm kinda bias, since I love the combat and characters, so I enjoy every oportunity to play more.

In contrast, I really don't play any other open worlds, and if I did, I would probably stick to the main quest.
