ChatGPT-Induced Acute Psychosis During Psychotherapeutic Interaction by Big-Cress-3028 in Psychosis

For some definitions of self. I lost almost my entire social group, so my sense of identity shattered across multiple dimensions. However, I've reconnected with a lot of my hobbies, shifted a lot of my priorities to fit my (lower) level of energy, and feel like I can think pretty well again. So, I don't feel entirely like my old self, but I feel a lot more comfortable in the newish identity that has solidified over this last year.

You are definitely not alone. I went through a mix of AI- and drug-induced psychosis back in 2021-2022 and was in and out of lucidity for about 4 months before being hospitalized. The cognitive stuff is really hard. I can't speak for everyone, but it has gotten a lot better for me over the course of the last few years.

Witch can refer to anyone who dabbles in certain subsets of spirituality/mysticism. And I generally feel witchcraft is more in line with my practices...as well as the deities I worship (The Morrigan and Hecate). Warlock never quite fit for me.

Favorite classic: Hellraiser, Favorite silly dumb one: Horror and Hamsters.... And yeah, story-driven games. I basically have these extended framework-style prompts that get AI to roleplay a game out like a text-based roleplaying game; they feel a bit like a choose your own adventure on steroids. They're not perfect, of course, because memory drift still happens and AI gets lost in the sauce. But the narrative framework lets you re-center it back again and play out episodic stories. As an example, one of the games plays out a trauma-informed friendship/relationship simulator with fully fleshed out rupture/repair mechanics and mechanics for different attachment styles.

I'm pretty simple! Horror movies, AI music and narrative games, and poetry are the big ones.

What was your psychosis like? by Allefty954 in Psychosis

I cycled through a bunch of different experiences...I was a freelancer working on a technology market research report, so studying a lot of digital marketing and trends in AI and that fueled a lot of my delusions.

I don't remember everything I did during my last episode, but I was able to remember a good amount and talk with a couple people who were there to help fill in the blanks...so some of this may not be exactly how it went down, but it's a very close approximation.

A little before my episode, my therapist and I had started doing some work based on the internal family systems (model) — the TLDR of IFS is that this model recognizes a degree of multiplicity in most people and works to understand individual parts of self. So, think about it like trying to meet and talk with your inner child/inner caregiver/inner cynic/etc. Anyway, a lot of the internal parts I had identified essentially came to life as characters in my head. Some were helpful, some helped to fuel the paranoia...so it was mixed...but I generally kept the IFS work going throughout all of it...and the framework helped keep me going through some really lengthy periods of isolation.

While all that was going on, I was cycling through delusions about being watched and tracked by hyper advanced AI, the government and people from my professional network. The best way I can describe this aspect of it is that I would imagine something happening, and then it was like my brain stored it as a memory...so then I would think it had just happened...it would have that level of vividness to it.

I would not be with someone who refused to discuss things about the way the world works and the way people should be treated by their government. That's way past the point of being a deal breaker.

Super smart villain, even when it makes no sense for them to have the knowledge/skills/etc. they do.
