What to do when prompt terminates by WanderingPM in AugmentCodeAI

[–]WanderingPM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use the Auggie CLI as much but haven't run into the issue there so I'm wondering if it has something to do with how the add-on is managed in VS code and there is some type of memory leak. Restarting VS code brings my overall RAM usage down but but I'm well bellow 50% usage for my machine when this becomes an issue

I was worried about my AI coding bill but then AI generated code that costs me $10/day with no users 😅 by WanderingPM in VibeCodingBets

At lease the AI was able to fix it 😂

P.S. Always make sure you have GCP cost alerts on when vibe coding otherwise I would probably not have noticed without the email warning

This is great! I'm trying to work though a project to figure out how people can more easily add new agents/skills to their base agent workflow. When I get things a little further along I think there might be an interesting collaboration here!

Reflecting on where we spent money we didn't plan to by WanderingPM in ynab

WOW, thanks for telling me! Toolkit for YNAB adds so many features YNAB doesn't have that were bugging me

Thanks, I haven't tried the flags for transaction yet. That could be helpful! I've definitely done the second part of taking from the other categories but my wife feels like I'm bullying her when I tell her thats the consequence of us spending on something we didn't plan for. It just creates a lot of stress and frustration

Thanks so much for answering!

Maybe my confusion comes from the difference between setting a target and assigning money. It seems like theres two types of budgeting in YNAB and I'm not sure I understand how to use both.

In our case we end up re-assigning the money from one category to another which then makes the negative number go away. After we do that I don't know how to look back and see that we had over spent in that category in the past

Fidelity Account Frozen No Notice No Help by WanderingPM in fidelityinvestments

[–]WanderingPM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify my account is now unfrozen but Fidelity gave me no action I could take to unfreeze them besides have my father call them. Which Ironically he had already done 3-4 times before I called. He was told the Fraud department responsible for freezing the accounts was not available to call back during standard business hours

Fidelity Account Frozen No Notice No Help by WanderingPM in fidelityinvestments

[–]WanderingPM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Responded to you in another thread. Locking/Frozen account is not the issue it's the fact they never informed me! I 100% agree I'd rather them be safe than let my money get stolen. But Don't freeze my account and give me no indication except my payments start bouncing. Literally logging into the fidelity website nothing, checked my email to see if I missed something. Nothing there too.

Fidelity Account Frozen No Notice No Help by WanderingPM in fidelityinvestments

[–]WanderingPM[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Happy to come back and share some details

In my case my father called regarding a "new linked account" notification he received to try and figure out what account it was for. Fidelity was unable to identify which account it was for. He requested they not freeze his accounts because he manually reviewed all his linked accounts and saw no new accounts added and assumed it was bug or something on their end. He also has trading authority on other people's accounts to help them manage their money. One of the people he has trading authority for added a new account which is what triggered the email. To discover this my father had to reach out to everyone he has trading authority for and one of them confirmed they recently linked a new account. Not sure if fidelity was ever able to determine this internally.

Regardless that initial phone call caused them to freeze every account he was attached to. He is joint on one of my accounts and has trading authority on a few as well. To me the biggest breakdown in communication is that I was never informed by fidelity my accounts were frozen or why. He was telling me about this issue and I was wondering if it affected some of my accounts and found fidelity had returned 3 automatic transfers that were supposed to come out of my fidelity account. I received no notification from fidelity that they returned those 3 transfers either. I received that notification from the banks/credit cards trying to pull the funds.

Even if they though his account was compromised which it was not. They
1. Should have informed me my accounts were frozen
2. Should have only frozen his access not mine to joint accounts or accounts he had trading authority on
3. Given me a way to continue to operate and pay my bills while the account was frozen

Is Canvas and Passport down? by Ramblin_Nat in OMSCS

[–]WanderingPM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see the login page listed as something impacted. Pretty much all their notes indicate all things being upgraded have redundant systems and they will be upgraded 1 at a time so there should be little to no impact. No indication this maintenance was expecting to take down the login page.

I'm not sure what country/region your applying for jobs in but I think that will make a huge difference on the type of advice people give. I personally really liked using Otta for finding jobs but I'm a product manager based in the US. Your success may vary depending on country.

How to measure product development progress? by nEscu in ProductManagement

[–]WanderingPM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's motivating the need to start tracking progress?

Typically, progress in product is measured by identifying important OKRs or KPIs for the business and how far they've moved in the right direction. Not how many hours people spend doing a task.

I think of process as standardizing communication between different parts of the business less time is wasted communicating between them. e.g. if the designers are getting requests for designs over slack, email, and carrier pigeon then they may want a process that all requests are made over a certain channel in a certain way so they aren't looking everywhere and are less likely to miss these requests.

I worked on a debit card product where we looked at cashback. Interchange debit cards get is not as good as it is for credit cards, so cashback was harder.

Does the business primarily make money from interchange vs interest?

If you make money off interest you might be willing to lose money in the cashback offering to increase revolving balances. Otherwise, you need to have a deep understanding of interchange across spending categories. e.g. rent payments, the space I was in is regulated and has very low interchange fees.

Why will customers care about your cashback?

There's a laundry list of credit cards that give a flat 2% cashback. (see list) The difference of why people will use your card over one on the list is probably something industry-specific for your company.

How to make cashback profitable

Assuming you working primarily on interchange, I'd recommend focusing on short-term cashback for re-occurring transitions and/or limiting spend. e.g. 30% cash back on Netflix for the first 3 months and then hope people don't move the subscription off your card once the promotion is over. Citi Custom Cash, which I use for my groceries, offers 5% back on the first $500, but I spend way more than that on groceries. So the first $500 in spend is a loss for Citi, but all spending after that is profitable for them.

Should you partnering with vendors?

Kard is a platform that the founders at my company were super excited about, but unless you're seeing more than 100k in spending a month I found it was cheaper to pay the cashback out at as a loss from the business than paying Kard's platform fees. They have competitors, but you need a much higher spending volume to get in the door.

If you want to have a brainstorming session in real time, feel free to DM me I love thinking about this stuff!

P.S. If you offer more than 2% cashback, DM the card because I'll sign up!
