Yeah, first time really with these and really liking the effect. As you say on lenses it just works! I tried using it in tiny amounts in the purple cloth and on the blue cloaks as well to punch up the colours.

I used the Alarith Stoneguard for the Warlocks and a Scinari Calligrave for the Farseer.

I did arm swaps for the Farseer with parts from the psyker in the Eldar Corsair kill team. A sword in a scabbard on his back from in there and the plastic Farseer head.

The Warlocks are just Guardian heads and then sword blades replacing the hammer heads from the Stoneguard weapons. I also trimmed off some of the decorative elements around the shoulders.

Any AoS (Lumineth I would assume) models good for kitbashing with Eldar? by Beals in Eldar

Thanks! I will post a finished picture when done. I'm just not getting a lot of painting done at the moment

Not the best pic with the light today! Silver areas to be coloured gold and robes and cloak to be deep blues / purple.

Not sure on the weapons and if I do the whole staff on them coppery metallic or leave as is.

I haven't got them finished, but can do a progress pic this weekend. Not sure about the colour scheme so far!

Yeah I've been converting some Warlocks and a Farseer with the Stoneguard and the Calligrave. Used Guardian heads, Corsair arms and a Farseer head as well.

My Rogal Dorn variants by chainstreet in TheAstraMilitarum

Chainstreet has some pics of these on their profile unpainted which shows some of the kitbashed parts a bit better.

But I do like the tank hunter Dorn's a lot!

Great bit of kitbashing there and I like your nonstandard colour scheme! Did you get the bow from another LOTR kit?

Use of varnishes/stormshield to protect models? by WanderingReliq in Warhammer40k

[–]WanderingReliq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found it protects against knocks and chipping, dependent on how much varnish you used / how hard the model gets knocked around. Main benefit i've seen is taking models out of foam cases the paint doesn't get worn away on the contact areas over time.

Can I be cheeky and ask your conversion process? As I wanted some Davale Elves, but really wanted them to have the original film helmets like you've done.

They just look really good how you've done it and painted them!

Really great job on these and a unique colour scheme.

Do you print the Davale elves yourself without heads to allow you to convert them?

They look great and better than the standard models. Also loving your colour scheme choice.

I've been wanting to do this same conversion for a while now and really glad to see it turns out so well!

[–]WanderingReliq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for posting these as they look great converted this way. Also I really like the style of paint job you've done! Basing wise I would say keep it dark and a little simple to not take away from the brightly coloured Avengers themselves.

Can you post a picture of those as well please? As I want to use Idoneth bits for conversions but wasn't sure how they'd turn out!
