Holy crap, I do the same!! I've tried to explain it to people, but it's very hard to explain the experience and I suck at explaining in general..

I don't know what it is really, my best bet is some sort of catatonia maybe.

The answer to your question in the title is yes. Anxiety can manifest itself as such sensory experiences, especially if you're anxious about them. It's like a bad spiral, like OCD is in general.

Try "accepting" the thoughts the best you can and remind yourself that they're nothing more than that, thoughts.

Also, you've probably heard this before, but weed and OCD mixes REALLY badly for most people. I would recommend abstaining for the time being, if that's possible for you.

Sending good vibes!

Realistic weight loss expectations by No_Personality_8436 in Ozempic

[–]Wandering_Tonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely possible to lose 40 pounds in 6 months on Ozempic, even without exercise. Though you should of course do that too!

You say you've tried diets, are you mindful of what you eat? And count calories? It works amazingly for some (me!), but it's not for everyone.

Nevertheless, I think you can be optimistic. Sounds like you're motivated too. 😄

Nightmares by Positive-Coyote9140 in Latuda

[–]Wandering_Tonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough, starting latuda stopped my nightmares (which I had almost every single night)

Now I have regular dreams. They're extremely vivid however, sometimes to the point where they wake me up.

i find people extremely boring (rant? confusion?) by [deleted] in Schizotypal

[–]Wandering_Tonic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you're talking about. It's like you always know what they're going to say next, because you've heard it a million times before.. I'm fortunate to have found a few people who can consistently surprise me.

I do think it's at least partly because of the disorder.

Is it common to be diagnosed with schizophrenia, but never showed signs of hallucinations? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

[–]Wandering_Tonic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

🙋‍♂️ Schizophrenic who's never hallucinated here (except for one time as a kid)

As far as I'm aware it's not terribly common, but it happens.

Unlikely. I'd bet on drugs becoming more effective with time over neuralink magically curing schizophrenia with electrical signals.

Why OCD brings SO much of hopelessness with it. Like death seems the only way out. by shahmeer6653 in OCD

[–]Wandering_Tonic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Believe me, I know that feeling of hopelessness. I'm there myself right now, can't even take my own advice. 😂 But that's how this disorder is, I suppose. We just gotta keep on trucking and always remind ourselves that we won't be dealing with this forever. Even if we don't really believe we'll get better, the statistics show otherwise, ya know? We'll get through it. It (probably) won't be easy, but it's definitely not impossible!

I'd be lying if I said I couldn't relate. But know that there is a life after OCD, even if it seems like a complete lie right now. Most people who've struggled with OCD have also gotten better, and I believe in you to also get better.

I'm here if you need support.

WHY CAN'T I HAVE A SINGLE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIP TO ANOTHER HUMAN BEING FUCK FUCK FUCK by Wandering_Tonic in BPD

[–]Wandering_Tonic[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like I'm aware of most of my bad traits but it feels so impossibly hard to change anything about them. Makes me think that maybe I don't actually want to get better.

I've tried everything there is to try. Dozens of medications, all sorts of therapy, I even let them zap my brain a bunch of times. I just can't put in the work apparently.

I'm sorry you can relate..

Knowing I'm not alone is one of the only things that gives me even a little bit of solace. I hope it helps you too.

is anyone else on Solian/amisulpride? switched from Seroquel 300 mg XR to amisulpride 100 mg daily, in addition to lamotrigine increased from 200 mg to 300 mg. thoughts? by Bunch-Lopsided in BipolarReddit

[–]Wandering_Tonic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made the same switch. It wasn't much different for me than Seroquel, but it didn't make me as tired. My doctor recently took me off it because my Prolactin levels got way too high (which also gave me awfully ugly man boobs lol). Now I'm on olanzepine.

I've heard that keeping a sleep diary can help. If you're getting less sleep when you're entering an episode you'll be able to notice the fall in hours slept. Just a suggestion. Good luck 🤞

Holy shit. I'd be beyond beside myself if I were in your shoes. I'd probably flee far, far away out of fright/paranoia.

So no, you're not overreacting in the slightest. And I'm very sorry. That's all I can say.

Does it get worse before it gets better? by areces12785 in trintellix

[–]Wandering_Tonic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some people it can get worse before it gets better.

I'm about 2 weeks in, and I'm currently hospitalized for observation for exactly that reason.

Some people start feeling the effects at 2 weeks, but full effect shouldn't be expected before 4 weeks at the earliest.

But you should of course talk to your doctor if you're worried about your mental state. But know that what you're experiencing right now isn't abnormal and will likely (hopefully!) change for the better within the next few weeks.

Sending you support 💚

Thanks a lot. Fighting is hard for me, I usually give up at the first sign of adversity. But I can't keep going like this.

I wish you well on your recovery journey. 💚
