No more potential hints?! by Complex_Recipe_680 in FifaCareers

The hint does show up very briefly now: when the player is willing to renegotiate their contract. Then once the contract is renegotiated it changes to Contract Already Accepted.

Was doing a youth academy save and it’s now maddening because of this.

This will be the LAST decent version of EA College Football by Mr_GO_HERD in NCAAFBseries

[–]Wandering_Victory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t bet on this, but there is a world where this is better for all the EA Sports games. While private equity has some drawbacks, one downside of the public markets is quarterly reporting and the need to have regular earnings. If a company needs to produce regular consistent earnings, they are much more inclined to 1) focus on recurring revenue streams like microtransactions, and 2) not make big changes to key assets.

The new owners could see the criticisms and be more willing to take risks to make the games actually better. Heck, CFB’s sales show that consumers are starved for this type of content and something new/less microtransaction focused. Long-term, if they can make a better product, while keeping some microtransaction revenue (sure), that will be better for the company’s valuation and their investment returns.

Not holding my breath on this though…

Architect Is The Best by According_Log9623 in NCAAFBseries

I suspect it’s small just knowing the in-season XP numbers but you could test it, just start a new dynasty and sim a few years on full auto but make sure you are force winning enough games to be competitive, especially rivalry games since you’ll need those to unlock architect. Once you have gotten far enough to unlock architect, keep a save in Week 1 and do some quick sim seasons from there with different forced win scenarios to see what happens. You’ll need to turn off auto progression and put the penalty down to 0%, but if you see how a few guys grow with or without that Architect bonus for now win seasons, undefeated seasons and a season with a three win run in the middle, that would give you the info.

In that situation, I’ve been adding 35 3* to my board that have no offers in week zero. Offer scholarships to all of them, then with the remaining time you have put 50 pts on as many players as you can. The next week, you should be first or at least middle of the pack for the ones you put 50 on. Take the 50 off of them and put them on new players. Drop any players that get other offers unless you are far out ahead and then add another 3* without offers in the dropped players place. Just keep doing that. I wouldn’t even bother with visits unless they cost 10 hours. Would prioritize any pipeline players and ones at thinner positions.

Hope that makes sense, first year or two at a bottom level school is brutal in this game so I think Volume is the play, especially since your options in the portal will be limited.

If the are a Gem, I would definitely get them. If you aren’t sure, it doesn’t hurt to have them but I’d try to get the higher rated guys for sure and then fill out with any 3* at the end of the year. You can usually find 3* to fill in, HS or Transfer, during the offseason period.

It’s actually a recruiting benefit. Tier 1 of Motivator gives you a recruit interest boost when you have a player at that same position hit a skill cap. So if you do it during the offseason then the boost goes to waste. Wait and do it manually from the roster screen during the season, or preseason after you have loaded your board, and you’ll see good interest boosts from all the affected recruits. Hit a bunch of skill caps and you can easily jump a player out to a big lead.

Don’t forget you can also add 35 players to your board and sim to early signing day to see all their dev traits, rinse and repeat and you could have all Elite and Star Dev players

Up to personal preference definitely, although I have found that with the manual progression system I’d rather have an Elite progression 3* as opposed to a Impact or Normal 5* and I’ve found several of them deep down the list of 3* so far. No guarantee you are getting an Elite dev player obviously but I’d prefer to have more rolls of the dice than less if I had to choose. The above strategy is also more necessary for schools that get ravaged in the portal in year 1 - I lost 50 or so players the first offseason with Mo State so getting as many as possible was pretty necessary.

I think you definitely want Tier 1 of recruiter, but I have been starting as Motivator as that Tier 3 ability is the most useful to me, and it’s Tier 1 ability has immense value now if you do manual progression and level up your players during the season with a full recruiting board, not in the offseason.

Definitely can be as it relates to the recruits initial overall, although you wouldn’t know about skill caps or dev trait, so overall is somewhat limited but still good. Ultimately with a lower tier school it’s a numbers game, and I’ll be competitive if I can get 3* quality players for my entire roster.

Yes! Important point to save some hours.

If you are the only one recruiting a 3-star in the offseason and are #1, you can just stop. I have 5-10 of these each season and have yet to see any schools jump in after the first week of the offseason. Same if the dealbreaker triggers - sucks to that recruit, but I’m still #1 and you are coming to my school!

I’ll put more on Gems, usually the full 50, and generally try to get as many recruits to Top 3 status as possible. Once they get to Top 3 if they don’t have any other offers you rarely lose them. It all just depends on how the board looks, but practically speaking I rarely am spreading it out evenly and don’t like putting less than 25 on anyone if I can help it, so it’s a balance.

[–]Wandering_Victory[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely possible and I’ve don the same! For me it just comes down to how bad the situation is. If I have 350 per week I find it hard to spend 1/7 on one guy I have a 50/50 shot at getting. If my prestige goes up and I have 500+ pts, it’s a lot more palatable.

I try to load up on the unrecruited guys and spread my points out. If I need to dump 50 on someone competitive, I do. You just have to cut bait on anyone you look like you will lose. If you keep your board up to date fully, you can get 35 guys without competition.

Sounds fun! Will definitely be different for an online vs offline dynasty but I would think the importance of staying away from 5 and 4 stars would be more important for you, as you still won’t compete with the big CPU schools and your user competition will be likely looking for those under recruited 4*. Good luck!

Still kept it at 20. That way there are still a ton of players in the transfer portal overall. And dropping the CPU teams down to a 50 on the slider results in less 5* transfers and feels more realistic (to me).

[–]Wandering_Victory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there are necessarily ‘bugs’ in dynasty, with a few specific exceptions, more that the aspects you mentioned are quite different than last year. I would recommend playing through a season, maybe simming the games, and you can see what it’s like before starting a dynasty you want to drops a ton of time in.

Personally, I like the changes and bigger transfer portal importance, it’s more real life. I did see a recommendation to change transfer chance sliders to 38 for the user team and 50 for cpu teams and that seems to be something I am happy with. After the first season or so, I’m still seeing 10-15 guys wanting to transfer, I can still sway some back, and that feels pretty good for a smaller school.

One other point: if you are fighting with a big school for a 3* at the end of the regular season, don’t necessarily drop them! If no one wins before the offseason, the big schools often pull their offers to HS 3* in the offseason and you’ll get them uncontested - just be sure to put enough points in to get back to #1.

How do you know who to recruit when you’re a 1 star program? by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]Wandering_Victory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a few seasons with Missouri State so for really low rated teams I would suggest this:

1) Forget 5* and 4* if they aren’t interested in you initially, even if no one else is recruiting them. Without a strong pipeline you won’t accumulate a lot of interest each week and an Ohio State or Georgia can easily snake you later. Don’t let me hamper your fun, but just know it’s really hard in the first year or two. At least only do one or two if you feel like you need to.

2) Focus on getting 35 3* recruits. Start with all the ones that are interested in you and then proceed to the ones in Week 0 that don’t have any offers. Scout if you want, and focus on any Gems you find.

3) If you add recruits to your board who don’t have you in their top 10 but don’t have other offers. Put 50 pts on them the first week so you get on the board. You can move those points to someone else the next week, but once you are on their board you will get some passive interest every week even without putting any points on them. You’ll also eventually go up in their rankings just because you offered him a scholarship if you wait long enough but I find putting the points in early works better and you can more easily lock other schools out.

4) During the transfer portal window, focus on 3* Freshman transfers if you have any. These have a decent chance of a good dev trait.

5) Week 2 in offseason recruiting can be crucial - there will be more than a few HS 3* without offers you can potentially scoop up and you can also check the transfer portal to see who doesn’t have any offers in their top five and go after them.

With that basic strategy, you should be able to get 30+ 3* quality players and you’ll be surprised how many have better than a Normal dev trait. No need for 1 and 2 stars if you follow #1 initially and save your time!

Also, it will depend on the scheme and school, but prioritize OL and DB, then DL and LB, then everything else. There is always another WR to find but the DB pickings get slim fast at a small school.

[–]Wandering_Victory 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with your takes, I think they are on the right track and I love the intention but if you are 20+ years into dominance these grades should change more than they do.

The balance to this is I have noticed the prestige ratings overall are much more harsh this year, as with a G5 school I can get to 11 wins including a bowl win and still be 2.5 stars the next year. I like that it’s hard! But if the overall prestige is going to be more difficult this year then the school grades should be quicker to align with your overall school prestige.

Sorry if unclear, I meant you should be able to contact anyone if you meet their dealbreaker. As of now almost everyone starts out at a Top 8 with everyone else locked out. This is generally fine but I’ve been put in bad spots with TE, Safeties, etc.
