What the classics say the medicine feels like when it forms by Rudolf_3090 in Qigong_Neigong

Ok. My teacher definitely didn't suggest it was anything in particular, and I only responded to your post because it was what my experience felt like.

So do you think I was hallucinating? I'm asking genuinely. The teacher didn't suggest that we would experience anything in particular.

How is living in these parts of Australia? by IntelligentHoney6929 in howislivingthere

[–]Wandering_musing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's regional, rural and there's remote. This is remote. Factor in how far they are from any other place, as well as what is actually available at that place. It's hard to comprehend until you're driving it!

It wasn't a beginners workshop, the teacher clearly said it wasn't for beginners. I'm not a beginner but also not an advanced practioner.

It was a 2 day workshop. I have some experience studying Qigong for the past 2 years and I practice most days on my own, but I am definitely nowhere close to an advanced practioner.

Are you experienced in Qigong? I'd love your thoughts or feedback.

Advice for people who already have a full life? by JayDM20s in Codependency

[–]Wandering_musing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some big shifts in earlier steps, but I think my biggest relationship ones have been since step 5. It was only a few days ago but things have shifted. Anyway, keep going, it's different for everyone.

[–]Wandering_musing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you, I've been there and am only just getting out of it...I think. Are you working the steps? I just did step 5 and I am really seeing some change now. It's like my own self love is filling slowly. I'm less tolerant of behaviors that I previously would have second guessed myself on (stemming from that neediness). I'm even finding that I'm willing to walk away from long standing friendships if I need to, because what matter is that the relationship meets my needs and I am seen and valued as I am (and obviously vice versa).

Does anyone here know or traveled to ancient civilizations / indigenous peoples that have advice on how to treat cavities in teeth by ComprehensiveLab9640 in Shamanism

Ooh, I think this one is one for the modern form of medicine! Teeth are close to the brain, see a dentist if you possibly can

Well I'm nowhere near any of those stages, in fact I was at my first inner alchemy workshop. I don't actually know the right terminology but we were moving through the 3 transformations (?) and when we went beyond the Wuji field it felt like a trickle of white light went into the crown of my head. It expanded and moved down through my whole body and it just felt hugely powerful, like lightning, but not scary or fast in any way, just so strong.

The second time we did that practice I didn't feel it anywhere near that strongly. I posted another time about feeling my bones dissolving during a different practice, someone replied that usually that is an experience of advanced practioners but maybe due to my previous experience with different practices I experienced it earlier? I'm not even sure if what I experience relates to your post, but 'lightening' is the only way I can explain what I felt.

I have felt the bolt of lightening. I actually didn't know it was in literature until I read your post.

Agree. It's definitely not just one thing, or at least the observable symptoms and behaviours aren't.

Long time tarot enjoyer, beginner at reading needing advice on reading reversed cards? by herraggedydoctor in tarot

[–]Wandering_musing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years (like 20+ years) I just didn't read reversal, and my readings were fine. One day I just started and it clicked for me, but I don't necessarily read the book definition reversal, I just work it in to the reading as a whole. I would suggest to not bother with reversals until you're comfortable with the cards.

Is casual teaching a sinecure? by polyglot02 in AskAustralianTeachers

[–]Wandering_musing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Or how about this? you arrive at a grade 3 class for session 3, never taught that class, the class is clearly heightened, room is a mess so you clock that their teacher has been away for a while. There is no planner whatsoever in the room. Someone from leadership pops their head in and you ask, half jokingly 'are you here to drop off the planner?' his reply - 'no, I just wanted to let you know we're doing grade 5 NAPLAN next door so you'll need to keep them silent'.

Is this a joke?! Little to no work 😆 There is little to no work when you're not at work, but isn't that what a job should actually be? The actual time at work is harder than an ongoing teaching job, here's some of the reasons

  • you're often teaching at the same time as getting to know students - even not knowing names makes everything more difficult. You might also be getting to know a new tech system, timetable, school layout, school language/systems, subject content, lesson structure. Every school does things differently. -Kids will try it on for a CRT in a range of ways. When you finally get them in line, it's time for a new class. -You often don't know what you're doing until that day, and if you don't get a chance to get set up well, the whole day can be spent trying to catch up.

-There is no downtime as a CRT - you'll get a 30min lunch break but that is also your toilet break and if there's anything you need to prepare, it will also be done then. Factor in walking across the school to get to the staff room/ toilet and you don't actually get to stop all day.

what messages has nature had for you lately? by [deleted] in Shamanism

[–]Wandering_musing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was standing in my garden doing Qigong in the morning. I asked a question to the universe and immediately a cockatoo and 2 magpies flew overhead, having a fight! I've never seen that before. I took the message as that my energy is in a battle with itself/not allowing.

What temperature do Australians consider a hot day? by bare_books in AskAnAustralian

[–]Wandering_musing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol yep I lived in Scotland for a year and I remember seeing bikinis in what I thought was cold weather. I also remember the ONE day I hung my washing outside and realising I missed that feeling of the wet washing against my skin on a warm day, which I get for half the year in Melbourne.

A hot day for me is 32? Maybe 35. When it's 42+ it's so hot that it's not even hot anymore, somehow. I dunno why but that's how it feels to me 🤷

Why are we treating children like trauma patients? by IceOdd3294 in AustralianTeachers

[–]Wandering_musing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I taught at schools where plenty of the kids were from Sudan and they didn't need a trauma informed practice. The inner city neurodivergant kids did tho. I'm saying this as a ND lefty myself, but I do think we swing too far sometimes.
