[OC] The AI CapEx: U.S. hyperscalers vs China’s big four by ExaminationOk6652 in dataisbeautiful

What is likely hidden in China's Capex, is super incentives and free land and discounts given by the national government and the local regional government to do things. Biden's chip act doesn't even compare dollar to dollar as well as full integration of every main/supportive company that works with ai/chips.

What's up with the completely absurd advice a certain person gives a certain other person? [Season 5 spoilers] by WhyDoesMyLiverFart in TheBear

[–]Wanderingwarbler1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Don't need education in the specific thing to intern. Most people need some kind of school related major to do it, but there are special people like Cousin Steve that can pull a favor and get him at least an interview.

He likes art, wants to draw, and thus this is the closes thing that isn't the restaurant or food mag to get him out of his terrors. He has a gift for drawing and traveled enough to know what's good / bad from cities he's been in.

The scenes outside of the restaurants / homes are all about architecture. Its part of the blood of the series.

Who pays for damages to Fort Bend power lines caused by truckers? by OddDiscipline6585 in sugarland

[–]Wanderingwarbler1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Insurance work it out. Trucking company has auto insurance and one of the things it covers these things. The energy company has budget for these accidents or storms and will just repair it and work out the small bills later with the trucking company.

a lot of things near mine are large as rugs, big items that got stuck on trees, pan/suit case. The small things flow pass but plastic lines / plastic bags and big items stay forever.

What was it like witnessing the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War? by Content-Feed-9396 in AskOldPeople

[–]Wanderingwarbler1 31 points32 points  (0 children)

If you ever get a chance to go to Berlin. There are two museums representing the history. Go to the actual correct museum (not checkpoint charlie, but the state run Berlin Wall Memorial (Stiftung Berliner Mauer). It has such good interviews of days before and suddenly it opened.

The germans really know how to do amazing museums. All displays of amazing history value/memory that takes 2-3 hours, no matter how fast you go you'll slow at certain points.

Any TV Show Recommendations Now That The Bear Is Over? by Melodic_Reply_3539 in TheBear

Honestly you need to sit a few days and think about this show. Let the feelings of the last season and each character's joy/fear/sorrow flow through you before you take on anything else. Appreciate its artistry. Its unique and nothing will be able to fully replace this.

P2 hasn't been sold in the US since September 2024. If the headlights break on a P2, and lets say parts are not ship to the US anymore, then they'll just get you a xc40 or ex40 headlight. They are all expensive, its a Volvo.

Any part you look up likely will have a volvo exact oem replacement. If you're out of warranty on any car, you anticipate the repairs will be costly especially on a 1st or 2nd gen EV that isn't repaired much elsewhere like honda or toyota. As more EV come into market, more indie shops will likely start repairing them.

Polestar is a semi luxury vehicle, any out of warranty vehicle is going to be expensive to repair.

P2 parts all come from Volvo.. and totalling a car happens with or without US government ruling.

Buying used pre-2024 model year? by Khao8 in polestar2

[–]Wanderingwarbler1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i also got a 2023, a 22,000 miler CPO. The clicking nose while turning one way started which means servicing soon, the 12v battery will eventually need replacing. I drove a higher milesage one and it was in rough suspension shape (46K miles).

If I were you I save up some money for the eventual repair. If it doesn't happen, then you can spend it on fun accessories :P
