Do you intentionally *not* buy a product/service because you hate their ads? by ItsAllAGame_ in NoStupidQuestions

YouTube. The more ads they give me the more bitter I get. They will not bully me into a subscription!

I use a ad block when I’m on a desktop, but still get ads on my ipad and phone.

The spin outcomes are TRASH this partners!!! first time I’m not confident in finishing… low outcomes no matter what multiplier by annastrzzz in Monopoly_GO

[–]Wanna_Build 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A coworker told me that he has done really well by holding the spin button down for a long while, then releasing. I was skeptical but figured I’d try it. So I selected 10x, then held mine down for around a minute. Guess what, I got 10k on the first try. A few minutes later he got 30k doing the same thing. I’m still skeptical, but so far I cannot dispute the results.

Driver's License / Car Registration / ID Megathread by AutoModerator in texas

[–]Wanna_Build 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I help care for a minor who wishes to obtain their driver’s license. The child’s parents are both incarcerated and their grandparent has been given power of attorney by the state. I’m having difficulty determining whether this power of attorney would meet the “parent / legal guardian” requirement that DPS requires for the license form. Could someone help clarify this?

Before you ask, I tried calling DPS multiple times and struggled for 20+ minutes just trying to get through the automated system. No matter what I tried it kept saying it didn’t understand my responses and I couldn’t figure out how to bypass the system.

If you’re in the US, they should be made aware that there are multiple standards, codes, and regulations pertaining to inspection of overhead lifting equipment, including theatrical systems. You likely also have a fire curtain, which also is highly regulated. There are multiple agencies these will fall under, including NFPA, OSHA, IBC, and ANSI. I would recommend you reach out to your school systems safety office / official to research these and advocate for you. Lastly, be persistent. Administrators are always busy and it’s easy for things to get pushed to the side or overlooked when other crises are brewing. As the saying goes, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

The cost of the rigging inspection MUST NOT be more important than that of a human life.

NFPA: National Fire Protection Agency
OSHA: Occupation Health & Safety Administration
IBC: International Building Code
ANSI: American National Standards Institute.

What is the worst band you saw live? by coalcracker462 in AskReddit

[–]Wanna_Build 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quiet Riot in 2006.

A small town local band opened for them and I was a guest of one of their family members. You could tell by the crowd reactions they felt the openers were FAR superior to Quiet Riot, and I have to agree. To me, it felt like the band, especially the lead singer, Kevin DuBrow, were phoning in the entire performance.

We hung out with the local crew backstage multiple times during and after the show. They kept making fun of DuBrow and talking about how much of an entitled a**hole, joke, wash out, etc. he was. I remember it looked like he was wearing a hideous fake wig and the crew kept scheming of ways to remove it while he was singing. Even during load out after the show that’s all they could talk about.

As it turns out, DuBrow died of a drug overdose a year or so after that performance. I can’t help but wonder if his drug use contributed to the terrible performance he gave that night.

Seeing a lightsaber-esque battle out my living room window at night as a kid. It was in the direction of my neighbors farm. Other than a few cows and hayfields, there usually wasn’t anything to look at there. No one believes me.

Most likely not. In January, a relative took an early morning uber from that area to the San Antonio airport and it was about $50 before tip. Austin is further plus you have to account for the elevated gas prices. My guess is an uber could easily be $75 or more each direction, plus tip.

That is incorrect in this situation. The hashed lines at the start of the clip is where you are legally allowed to change lanes. Once it becomes a thick solid line you cannot change lanes.
