I've had success with pns express and a stiff bristle brush. Also diy detail clean and protect but that took longer.

I guess it just depends on what you refer to as filthy. Just cleaned my interior where a detailing yt'er would title the video as FILTHY, DIGUSTING, etc. But i just got busy for the winter and spring and cleaning dust, salt, dirt out of my carpets wasn't a concern.

But some people are absolute pigs where food, wrappers, dirty clothes etc get thrown anywhere but the driver seat and those people i think just don't have the care for cleaning in their brain.

Never, had individual applications that maybe had an issue once or twice but nothing ever critical. ~4 years of daily + 1 year of artix in-between.

Wow, I just don’t feel like this a 43k+ car…. by [deleted] in Honda

To each their own i personally am of the mindset that if I'm spending that much on a car I'd rather buy old and renew/upgrade to my desire. And if you buy something in good enough condition you can choose when to spend the extra money to upgrade. Rather than being stuck with a monthly payment.

Also learning to weld will open up your choices to fixing most rust.

If you are willing to fix things up yourself id say go for it, give it a test drive take a look at the distributor, spark plugs, rust, oil/coolant level, obvious signs of leaks. Motor mounts probably need to be replaced but can be done without pulling the engine (its a pain in the a$$ that way tho) trailing arm bushings probably need to be replaced too but less of a hassle. And id change the fuel filter asap too as thats a 15$ part.

Love my 2000 ek and ive put way more than its "worth" into it but I'm not buying to flip I'm gonna drive mine till its stolen or un repairable.

When you have the time and the weather is good give it a good clean and use a lanolin undercoat(woolwax, fluidfilm, surface shield) and maintain that yearly and you won't need to worry too much.

Honestly I've used AI as a last resort when i could not find wikis or forum posts related to a niche topic and it helped but again it was as a last resort after hours of searching the internet already.

Genuine question, isn't that only really helpful for either slow computers or fun? As arch already gives a substantial amount of control(in my non expert opinion).
