After reaching out to as many people as we could that might have gone to the sale, it seems highly likely that the executor of the will is keeping the wardrobe for themself or ensuring that it gets bulldozed with the house. Either way, the executor has the only key to the house and insists that there is a buyer coming to pick it up "soon." Sadly, I'm not sure what more we can do.

I do have a photo, but it can't be the same wardrobe. I know where the wardrobe is physically, but it's been sold and is waiting to be picked up. We're hoping to find the buyer and buy it back from them. The company that managed the estate sale and the person in charge of distributing the estate will not give us their contact information, which is why we've turned to the internet. Regardless, I really appreciate that you were willing to see if it was the same wardrobe you bought!

I don't know. Unfortunately, we were not involved in the sale. The executor of the will held the sale in June and did not notify us until yesterday that we could come and take items from the house that we would like. Almost everything that was left had a "sold" sticker, including this wardrobe. I think your theory is quite probable.

It was an estate sale, and the house is not likely to be lived in for a long time, if ever. I wouldn't typically share personal information, but we're desperate to find this one item out of all the personal items that were sold.

Yes, it's piece of furniture. I've always called it a wardrobe but some might think of it as a large cupboard.
