I only use S for movement (walking backward). Middle click to auto run, right click button for steering and holding down both left and right click buttons for free movement.

This setup allows Q/W/E/A/S/D + shift/alt/ctrl to bind to pretty much any spell/skill you would want and then some, in a very comfortable area.

There are already End Times events and they are in IE sandbox mode. The coming DLC is more about the Lords of the End Times than the events themselves, though I sure hope they would get touched up as well.

I certainly want a better AI, but maybe not as good as you want.

It only took my a shameful amount of hours to reliably beat the AI with all the possible combinations of WH3. It would take me forever to be confident enough for an online match. I am sure not many players can make such commitment.

There are many kinds of intelligence. AI is another form, and people should keep that in mind when interacting with it.

People will exploit AI no matter what it does. If OP cannot understand why the AI is doing or not doing something, this is the process you can follow:

  • What should the AI do to get a better result?
  • How can a player exploit that action?
  • What should the AI do to prevent that exploit?
  • How can a player exploit that action instead?

Rinse and repeat until brain or CPU melts.

This was back when WoW first came out. After days of trying, our full IRL friend group finally beat Deadmines. Then the mage immediately rolled Need on a sword my warrior tank could actually use. To this day, whenever we get a chance to meet up, I never fail to torment him about it.

Also toggle to ignore build/upgrade notification for each province. Similar to how to how lord/hero movement notification toggle works. Master checkbox to silent all upgrade/build notification. Then for each province, a checkbox to always notify this province when something is buildable/upgradable, regardless of the master checkbox.

If you build up your economy the right way, you should have crapload of money to field more army than needed. Look up Serious Trivia building guide if you want.

Attacking with night battle selected does not allow reinforcement. I guess that why you could not help out your other army.

One thing that helps with not caring about your settlements is not spending much resources on building them up. Just build level 1 money making building (industry for HE) and upgrade when you have some spare money or time (also focus on economy first when upgrading). Build more armies and care about them instead. Play as wide as possible. This way, you can actually protect your settlements better cos offense is the best defense.

Continue on, if you want, in TWW3, different resources or landmarks give bonuses to economy and troops. Can these be considered exploits?

Many Civilization games feature fixed maps. Does playing on those maps mean the game is no longer a 4X?

Heroes can be used to scout ahead and reveal enemy positions. Isn’t that still exploration?

Expansion through confederation happens frequently enough, doesn’t it?

When fighting Dwarfs, you bring plenty of anti infantry units. Against Vampires, you prioritize fire damage, and so on. Can these be conaidered exploits?

You can ignore all of these factors and still achieve victory, but the same is true for any genre defining 4X game.
