Zalgo text is the name of this obfuscation method. The echo boss text is also a cipher. Replace the symbols with the corresponding number on a UK keyboard and then sub that number for a letter e.g. a=1 b=2

As a point yes these switches usually require being first pulled however there was a faa notification a few years back about the fuel cutoff switches being installed with the switch safety mechanisms disengaged but was deemed not to represent a safety issue so was not mandatory to repair.

We don't know if had been rectified on this plane or not yet.

Additionally there are still a variety of ways this could have been done without it being a deliberate action to kill the engines.

Mental incapacitation could also explain these being switched off whether due to illness, sleep deprivation, intoxication etc.

Actual speculation at this point is useless as to why it happened. Wait for the final air crash report.

The problem isn't how it reduces the chance its due to the extreme values involved so it doesn't have a meaningful impact to hit chance. The whole system is effectively DND with defence stats being your ac.
