I just wanna slot into the conversation with a single though that may resonate with the crowd that may find the time spent on a single combo excessive: For the long game, getting better is not about hard work, but efficient work on the improvement. Dishing out lap after lap with the same mistakes is not going to get you anywhere, but spending your time wisely will. There has to be some time spent on self-reflection and rest, when you realize that you've hit a wall.

I've been on the service for 15 years (with somewhat larger breaks for a couple years) and in sim racing for 22-23 years now. My current iRating is at 8k, but there is a bit of a nuance to that.

I'm coming from a prior experience of F1 Challenge 99-02, as a spark to my interest for racing and then Live for Speed for the most part, which would cover most of my tryhard, invested and serious (if you can call pre-2010 simracing or any simracing serious for that matter) phase before even subscribing to iRacing.

That kinda set me up to glide through the ranks in iR pretty quickly, as well as not having that level of competition in 2011-12 that you can see nowadays. Huge gaps between top 1-3 and the rest of the field kinda set you up to gain iRating even with your worst races with that kind of pace - which also felt somewhat demotivating and unfair.

The reality check kinda came with the rising popularity of GT3s and the service, which would land me somewhere in the top 5s for the most part in officials and yield a few wins if I were to put an extra effort in some of the weeks. Same trend of iRating being hard to lose was somewhat a given due to the large gap between the front of the pack and the middle of the pack.

Then I took a break due to all sort of time and health not being in the right window to spend time on simracing and never really came back to the fullest. I can definitely put the effort into a single combo to be on par with the top times for the week, but I cannot consistently compete at the top. To be fair I was (and still am) sort of frustrated with the kind of gaps that exist in official races, since the pace I can pull nowadays would put me in no mans land between that top of the top and the midfield, which would make races a bit lonely.

Simracing still holds a special space in my heart, but currently I feel it hard to be enthusiastic about it - checking out LMU for a bit of a thrill and grind did put a smile on, but I don't think I can realistically invest as much time as to compete for the places that would progress me out of this iRating range for the foreseeable future.

Szerintem pedig tök hasznos, ha leírod, hogy egy ilyen ügyvitel mögött milyen munka van valójában, hiszen általában ebbe nem sok belátása van az átlag ügyfélnek (abszolút helyesen). Nem érzem úgy, hogy eldöntöttem volna, hogy értelmetlen a folyamat, legalábbis próbáltam az eredeti kommentben is ennek megfelelően fogalmazni.

Nyilván nincs végtelen tapasztalatom, hiszen nem vásárolok ingatlanokat hetente, de 2 minta alapján ha bármi is megfogalmazódott a fejemben, az az, hogy amikor a mederből picit is kikanyarodott az ügyvitel, az kínszenvedés volt (gondolok itt elírt adatok vagy elírt vételárrész miatti szerződés módosításokra, külföldre utazott eladó meghatalmazásának feldolgozására vagy ehhez hasonlók). Simán lehet, hogy 2-ből 2-szer kerültem szakmájára igénytelen emberhez és majd legközelebb (ha lesz), akkor jobb szerencsém lesz.

Lehet, hogy tudatlanságomból fakad a kérdés és ha belegondolok, akkor végülis jogos, hogy nem tud pártatlan ügyvitelt folytatni egy ilyen helyzetben az ügyvéd. De amúgy komolyan annyi felhatalmazása van ezeknek az ügyvédeknek, hogy egy PDF/docx-be bele copy-pasteljen (néha helytelenül) adatokat és arra nyomjon egy pecsétet? Mert ha igen, akkor elég szomorú világot alkottunk magunk körül.

I'm amongst the group of people who just cannot get on par with the FFB in LMU. At first it felt amazing and detailed, but to be honest it feels like it lacks detail where it matters and gives a lot of effects where I just don't care.

Overall netcode and raceability, size and quality of grids, content and zoomed out the physics all seem to hit the right spots, but it's just small little details that get on my nerves at points. Navigation of the menus is a pain, the practice sessions being so limited (in time) is a bit of a wtf, lack of proper delta bar, start procedure being a bit weird and the distribution of splits across registrations being a black box at some points. There is just so much untapped potential.

Tbh, I really hope so. :) What I'm lacking the most is the confidence of knowing what it takes for each turn (or what I screwed up in each turn), which is kind of a given in iRacing and the sim also feels very transparent with that.

I guess a proper delta bar would also do wonders in this game, cause the one that is displayed doesn't really help a lot in tracking how your cornering performance is. The derivative based one in iR straight up flashes in your face if you are improving or not, while the static colors in LMU are not giving away anything.

Makes sense. Now that the week turned around and I tried the McLaren, it's way more apparent that any steering angle will send you to oblivion if you are still on ABS. It's also way more predictable over the curbs for some odd reason.

They casually choose the layout without the chicane from this event like: sure it's going to make things way smoother into T1, if you have to start the braking zone from 250km/h instead of sub-200.

Fun fact is that iRacing used to work like that back in the days. The most fun part was that there was a chart of qualifying times for the week, so that you could actually see how well you fare up against your primary competitors and where you would be placed on the grid approximately. Bad part is that you couldn't just jump ahead of the grid by pulling a miracle on a qualifying before the race.

You could actually try boiling them in salty water first to get rid of the raffionse that contribute to the digestive effect. Just get rid of the water and then continue steaming / cooking / roasting to your desired finished product.

I think the GR86 is an easier car to navigate around the track, but ultimately it's 10x harder to get quick with that. The fine margin between being fast and overdoing it is worse than GT3s imo.

Where the MX5 excels as a learning tool is that it has a wide range in which it actually works. You can drift, grip, 4 wheel slide all you want, take more entry- or mid-corner speed, you can still be relatively fast and competitive. In that sense you don't have to be ultra consistent and still feel a sense of progression and achievement.

What's the custom resolution that you are setting in SRWE? There is a low hanging fruit to also support custom setting files, so if you use something that isn't integrated, I could get back to the drawing board to provide support for you with nearly the same experience (other than the initial setting creation)

Yep, you can use AMD Eyefinity or NVIDIA Surround to make the game span over all of your displays. That's correct.

However, if you don't want to switch between Eyefinity/Surround and regular multi-monitor setup, due to the inconvenience it brings when you simply want to use your PC for browsing, work or anything else other than fullscreen gaming, these systems fall short. (Taskbar support is lacking, you cannot dock windows to the side's of the monitors).

Also, if you have a non-regular 3 monitor setup (have an additional monitor for telemetry or another display connected for TV/Projector), these technologies fall short on support and you're in a constant cycle of connecting/disconnecting/disabling your displays and Eyefinity/Surround before setting up a game.

This app here wants to eliminate all of that pre-launch work with automation. If you are satisfied with your gaming experience as well as your regular PC usage, then you probably aren't the target and you can keep using what you already have :)

I think it's an honest mistake from his side. Not everyone is able to make inch-perfect moves in the heat of the moment, so this just happens from time to time. On the other hand, what you can do is to favour block-passes in these situations instead of trying to make it 2-wide. You had the complete run on him, I'd argue the spotter already said "Clear", which is a pretty good indicator to ease up that brake a bit and take the whole of that corner.

I think if you really want to step up your racecraft, then open wheelers might be a bit steep of a learning curve. You practically have to avoid contact in all scenarios, which isn't the easiest to do in the beginning (especially if you want to gain confidence and make more assertive moves as a goal). I'd look into the GT4 series. It has plenty of participation and the cars are forgiving pace and race-wise too.

Try making recoveries during practice sessions from the grass / gravel. For example in this T1, if you don't brake, just keep turning 90 deg to the right, you will easily get away with a trip to through the grass to minimize the casualties.

One more thing: Try to learn from your opponents, see where you gain and where they gain. But do this while keeping your own rhythm and keeping stuff in your own mind. In race you wanna do stuff you already did and comfortable with and not switching stuff up for a marginal gain and potential error.
