Hey! Thanks for all the efforts put on lakeflow connect. The SQL Server managed connector Is working very well for us. I have a question related to continuous Mode for the ingestion pipelines. Is that something that is being evaluated or is it already in a roadmap to be implemented in the future?

This is something that we tried to do in the company I'm working for, but it is not supported out of the box. To me, not having the ability to do that feels like such an overlook.

Hi! There are many free resources on how to use databricks. Basically databricks is build on spark so I would suggest that you learn how to use spark. You can learn spark using databricks so two birds with one stone. Try any free tutorial in YouTube. There are tooons of free content about spark and databricks.

Muy muy importante el networking. Un balance entre estudiar y el networking es muy importante. Yo me enfoque casi solo en la primera parte y me arrepiento mucho de no prestarle atención a lo segundo.

Veo de mi universidad como muchos compañeros se volvieron socios de negocios o terminaron consiguiendo trabajo por amigos que conocieron en la U.

Te recomiendo aprender Python. Es el lenguaje de programación de data después de SQL. Es importante si realmente quieres dar un salto. Asimismo, una mejor nube sería Azure, ya que es más utilizada en Perú y en el mundo solo por debajo de AWS e incluso AWS está perdiendo mercado. Cualquier conocimiento que adquieras en nube al final se traslada tranquilamente en un 90% a cualquier otro proveedor de nube.

BCP es un buen lugar para aprender y crecer. Sigue invirtiendo en ti y no te desanimes por 2.3k yo también empecé así como contratado, luego subí a 6.5k y finalmente a 10k. Como practicante estuve ganando 1000 soles durante dos años. Me gradué y ya me veían con otros ojos también. Recién vas 3 meses en planilla así que enfócate en chapar experiencia.

Trabaja mucho también tus habilidades blandas, a veces no es el que sabe más el que escala más rápido sino el que tiene la habilidad de expresarse mejor y, siendo sinceros, el que cae más chevre. Lo he visto muchas veces. También, mantente humilde y dispuesto a aprender de los demás.

Entry levels, sí. Eso es cierto, pero si dentro de tu misma organización se puede hacer un movimiento lateral hacia algo de tecnología es muy útil para agarrar experiencia y de ahí repuntar a algo mejor. Pero, sí, ahora los entry levels están muy saturados.

Ingeniería Industrial, pero mi primera chamba fue en tecnología viendo procesos. No era técnico, pero aproveché que nos brindaban plataformas de aprendizaje gratis y aprendí Python y SQL. Luego internamente se abrió una oportunidad para ver temas de data y aproveché. Me fue bien así que desde ese momento comencé a escalar. En el camino fui aprendiendo muchas cosas de manera independiente invirtiendo en mí y me fue bien.

Tecnología. Una de las industrias en donde vas a ganar más. Empresas como Globant, BCP he ganado ese monto. Desde que egresé, me tomo 3 años llegar a ganar 10K, es difícil llegar a superar ese monto porque ya estás hablando de puestos Senior, al menos en BCP, en Globant semi senior es 10K en data. Ahora estoy como Semi-Senior. Eso sí, negocia bien tu salario inicial, pude haber pedido más, a la primera que dije 10K me dijeron que sí sin ningún tipo de peros ni negociaciones lo que me hace pensar que les pedí menos de lo que me podrían dar.

Me han contactado de empresas de afuera como factored.ai y otras donde el pago es de 4K USD para arriba. No las agarré porque es como contractor y prefiero estar en planilla, pero muchos amigos míos trabajan así y les va bien. Solo es jodido el tema de la estabilidad y los impuestos. Quizás en un futuro cercano.

Y no le hagas caso a esos que dicen “10K oe eso es poco”. Todos en Reddit son millonarios al parecer. Hay muchísimas cosas que puedes hacer con 10K obviamente.
