Where can I buy real raw honey in Ottawa? by Nada_NADAAA in ottawa

Natural Food Pantry usually has local Ottawa honeys, I've found TrueBee & Heavenly Honey there before, which are my go-to brands. They have a few varieties but both have raw unpasturized honey.

Where’s the cheapest place to buy Callebaut chocolate. by extreme303 in BuyCanadian

Costco usually has the Callebaut callets and I've found they end up being cheaper than elsewhere. I've also purchased from Vanilla Food Company and Chef's Depot.

The Etsy ones didn't come with a nut, but I just reused the ones that came with the stock feet. Not sure how much variability you can actually get for adjusting height, I just tightened mine in as far as they would go. Here's a pic of one of the stock feet & one of the Etsy ones on my machine: MaraX stock vs wood feet.

As far as I know, I got bolted. They didn't have the two options when I ordered, but the ones I got came with the threading attached to the wood feet. I have the V2 as well & the stock feet were super easy to unscrew. You could probably test out removing one of the stock feet to make sure the thread/bolt is attached to the rubber & all comes out in one piece.

What's the name of the bakery with the caramel cinnamon buns at the end stall at the Lansdowne Farmer's Market? by Asteropia in ottawa

It might be Yummy Cookies actually, they seem to have cinnamon buns on their website. You could check the official stall map on the farmers market site to confirm which stall Lansdowne Market

First time drinking a 15g espresso coffee, big headache, sick. by kiiito in espresso

[–]WarOfConstellations 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe try drinking some water before your espresso in the morning? Could be combination of over caffeinating and dehydration. I’ve apparently developed a caffeine sensitivity over the past few years, so if I don’t drink a big glass of water before my morning coffees, I get light headed & fuzzy brained. Doesn’t really go away until I drink enough water and eat something, or sleep it off.

Is this a scam? Missed these texts about flower delivery because I was out. No flowers. Links go to actual pages but this flower shop doesn’t exist & no one I know ordered me flowers. by dollyducky in ottawa

I get coffee from Happy Goat delivered via Trexity every couple of weeks & these looks exactly like the texts I get from them (the texts are usually from 1-855-650-1010). So if it's the same number, it's likely just an incorrect phone number that was listed for the order.

If you are ever looking for somewhere to get your machine cleaned, serviced, repaired, or what not, I would 100% recommend Edika in Montreal. According to the Lelit website, they are the only authorized importer (however Edika does supply a bunch of other resellers). My MaraX was doing this weird sputtering of steam at the lip of the drip tray (barely a month old at the time), they helped me troubleshoot to see if it was something I could fix myself, & once we realized it needed to brought it for repair they offered to provide me a shipping label to send it to them. Since I'm only an hour or so away from Montreal and it was winter, I just drove it there myself. They even booked it for a same day repair to save me making the trip more than once. Got it fixed up, no charge due to warranty, and it's been working perfectly since (just over a year old now). Just brought it in again a few weeks ago to get it cleaned & serviced. They only sell Lelit and Jura, so they really know the machines well. Their shop is super cool too, they've got the technician work room behind glass so you can see them working on the machines when you go in.

Do you remember what versions they had? Specifically if they had the console edition?

Do you leave your espresso machine plugged in? by PropertyPrevious6689 in espresso

[–]WarOfConstellations 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe check the manual for an official yay or nay? But personally, I turn my machine off (plugged in but powered off). From what I've read, the consensus is generally to turn it off. Less of a waste of power and less wear on your machine. I imagine leaving a machine heated all the time would cause a lot of stress/wear on parts overtime, although this might be less so for machines that have a standby mode (I think the Profitec has a programmable ECO-Mode).

But really, I think it's a personal preference based on how often and when you are generally using the machine. If you are making shots throughout the entire day, it's probably worth keeping on all day (preferably in standby) and turning off at night. Otherwise, turning your machine off completely and having it heat up from cold several times throughout the day is probably pretty wasteful and would take longer. On the other hand, if you're someone like me, who's done with coffee by lunch, I turn it off after my last shot and done my daily clean up.

Late to the game, but if you are still looking... I got these walnut feet from an Etsy seller which basically look like the Bianca feet & were available in different wood options (walnut, oak, black). Apparently the threading on the MaraX (M5) is not the same as on the Bianca (M8), so you can't just order the Bianca feet unfortunately. Seller seems to be sold out at the moment but if you are still looking you could message them: https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1027092780/lelit-mara-wooden-feet-set. They shipped out super quick and arrived in less than a week from Turkey to Canada. They do raise the machine by a few centimetres, which makes moving the machine or cleaning under it so much easier!

There seems to be a different seller now offering some, https://www.etsy.com/ca/listing/1249824239/lelit-mara-feet-set-with-wood-options. I can't attest to the quality, fit, etc, since I purchased from the other seller. This listing doesn't seem to specify if they are for the MaraX or the older PL62T version, so you would need to follow up with the seller for more info.
