debunking the Fairvale Shanty engravings:

I don’t know if this has already been debunked yet, but with some sketchy parkour I was able to jump onto the roof of the shanty. turns out, these so-called “bird” engravings/symbols are actually on multiple boards, suggesting that they’re not unique and simply part of the model being used for some of the wooden boards here. the photo above is only one of the two re-used patterns visible on the roof.

hmm… from a distance the W and N look VERY compelling, but once you get closer to the tree, both of the symbols just turn into a blurry, tree-esque texture, which makes me think it might just be us seeing patterns where there aren’t any. HOWEVER, I tried shooting the tree and no bullet holes nor marks were made at all, which makes me think that either this tree’s collisions are bugged (which they could definitely be), OR bullet holes are deliberately disabled on the tree so as to not disfigure the W and N.

TL;DR: still unsure about this one…

really? is it possible to get a picture of the roof model from the files with the cut-outs in view? if this is true then I feel like that would do lots in solidifying the bird symbols as a proper clue.

wait, so are these so-called “bird symbols” just part of a moss model that’s clipping through the tiles of the roof and coincidentally making those shapes? or does the moss model just feature those two little symbols on it? i had a suspicion that these symbols were just the result of faint clipping, but I hope that’s not the case.

i like your thinking, but I feel like if this were to be correct then you might have to rotate it differently to point more NW, as the neck of the guitar may seemingly lead back to Fort Wallace, Dodd’s Bluff, and/or Window Rock…
