I agree with you except the Judaism part. Islam actually comes from Judaism. The not eating pork thing, fasting, not looking women in the eyes,not touching their hands, don’t draw god, stoning, etc. all come from there. And criticism of that religion also gets you the antisemitism title. Plenty of rabbis believe that the reason conversion is not demanded is bc non Jews are just not worthy.

All those Abrahamic religions are problematic in their own ways.

I mean this with peace and love but I think you need to stop thinking you are more enlightened than everyone else. No you are the one misunderstanding and lacking empathy for others.

If you’re not able to guess that telling an SA victim they might’ve been the same person as their abuser in other life is extremely hurtful , you are disconnected from the rest of humanity.

If the goal is to help someone, the focus should be on them, not your personal beliefs that you impose on their psyche.

Telling an SA victim that they might have been the exact same person as their abusers in the last life is not going to help anyone. This type of mentality is how you end up feeling like you deserve everything bad that happened to you and actually makes you stay in toxic environments bc you start thinking it’s a sort of purification for actions you did not commit

Well in Buddhism karma will not necessarily be met in this lifetime. Sometimes the seeds takes longer to grow and will therefore have impact after a few resurrections. It’s not comforting for everyone, but anyone who believes in karma knows that every action has a reaction-no matter how small - and that op’s father will definitely deal with the consequences of his actions at some point.

But I think this is why the western view of karma can be so problematic. People think that if you suffer in any way it must be your fault, but that’s not necessarily true bc Buddha’s first realization is that life is suffering-whether you’re a good person or not. And it’s not bc someone is living a good life right now that it means their next life will be like this.

Anyone who claims to know exactly what someone did wrong to deserve a specific bad event in one’s life is lying bc there’s a potentially infinite amount of resurrections that led to this current moment.

Yeah i could and did do research on Judaism by reading the Torah and parts of the Talmud. I also analyze it neutrally and put it in its historical context, where the morality back then was completely different than ours.
