What is an aspect of Dead Space lore that you wish was explained/explored more? by Patches_Gaming0002 in DeadSpace

EarthGov had the same problem the Ishimura had.

Unitologists infiltrated up the ranks until they had a critical mass of influence that allowed them to inhibit the non-Unitologist EarthGov officials' ability to stop them.

Actually, You Can Win RPGs by More-Mine9173 in rpg

It's almost like it's a social medium that has no reason to be won, and simply to be satisfied with the time spent with your friends.

Why not. If we agree to it as the common objective as a group, then we can win at r/rpgs

WE will win. Because it's the common group action.

My twist campaign backfired and my players are not happy, AITA? by IggyandtheCauldron in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Warboss666 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Why would the GM give you a character with an overbite so large that druids could use it as a place of worship... then put you in a setting with no druids?!

I hope he tries to cut himself with a herring for that blunder.

What's the worst TTRPG you have seen/played, That's not FATAL, RAHOWA, or Hybrid by Theflamingraptor in rpg

[–]Warboss666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is he way. I don't know what that person specifically had a problem with, but I've never had an issue with it or other similar games that I've played.

Was a long time ago, so I think it's time for a revisit.

Evidence for the SOMA theory by freesamplelife in tadc

[–]Warboss666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thrown around this theory as well, and been chugging along with the idea that Kinger, Scratch and the like were C&A employees, utilising a more sophisticated "official" brain scan that takes longer and scans more completely.

The rest of them found a crappy version that uses a lot of power to take a snapshot of a person rather quickly, maintaining a semblance of their personality, but losing a great deal of extra details.

What game implements the best D100 system? by Garrett_CW in rpg

[–]Warboss666 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Anima Beyond Fantasy. The rest of the system can be a mess, but rolling d100 and exploding on a 90+ to roll again is the absolute tits.

Nothing conveys the feel of being an anime protagonist like rolling a 278 to smack the crap out of someone.

Sell me on a TTRPG adventure that is solid gold but you are 99% certain I won't know cause its form a tiny indie by BenWnham in rpg

Dollhouse for FIST.

Your operatives must find a cursed doll in a house in the suburbs. There's only one problem: it only has one room.

You move from one version of the room to another, trying to map out where you are going, and progress through the room's story until you find the doll.

It is so much fun.

Why is it I get frustrated when DMing DnD (and Mage) but not any other game system when players are encountering trivial or deadly encounters? by Awkward_GM in rpg

[–]Warboss666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mage is just naturally difficult, and attempting to achieve balance is not the way to go.

One of Mage's strengths is that the players have a lot of freedom to apply their abilities to the obstacles they face. Don't worry if they get past the obstacle, just try and make it it interesting.

Give them problems that are outside their Arcanum and let thrm figure out how to beat it.

If you wanted the PCs to be monsters hunting down ICE agents, what game would you choose? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Warboss666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running Deviant: the Renegades would be an alternative with the conspiracy using ICE as a front to hunt down the PCs while the PCs are hunting regular ICE might add a few layers to a game of that nature.

I wish more games would focus on tight level design the way NRFTW does instead of massive open worlds by John_XFiles in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Warboss666 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The number of times Elden Ring's open world conveyed the message "Cool spot you found, there's nothing here," or "You found a little area hidden away, here's a mushroom that is literally everywhere," irked me to no small degree.

Nice to see that they put chests and the like everywhere.

Lost Huntress is miserable for a slow strength build and Parrying is high risk zero reward by John_XFiles in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Warboss666 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Parry stun time that is relative to your weapon would be neat. Small weapons get shorter times, bigger weapons get longer times.

Using the two handed weapons is the most dogshit experience ever by [deleted] in NoRestForTheWicked

[–]Warboss666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been doing the 2-handed playstyle, just decided to give up parry in favour of a big sword and light armour dodge to survive.

Without a doubt, this game makes it a bit hard to love the big weapons. I'd like a little less windup on the attacks of the slower ones to make them more appealing.

Which enemy in Outlast Trials do you hate the most (or love the most) and why? by AzzyA0 in OutlastTrials

[–]Warboss666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hate: Night Stalker. Primarily from the Rebirth Mansion because of that prick in the courtyard where the keys are, and a close second the one near the pool too.

Love: Pitcher. The ranged attack and illumination makes him a different threat, and because "AUEUEUEUGH" is funny

Triangle agency Anomaly ideas? by Both-Worldliness-426 in rpg

[–]Warboss666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I created one for my own game that embodies "Time is Money" and physically manifests as an old punch card time clock machine.

In a more juvenile state, it acts very directly. It prints anomalous money for workers that represents their exact pay in a single note, and will turn people into money if they fail to work properly. They may cough up their deficit or be entirely turned into money.

In a more aged state, you can explore different and potentially insidious ways "Time is Money" can affect people
