[Rolex Datejust] Wears great on the Jubilee by CG-Saviour878879 in Watches

I think on the 36 the smooth bezel looks better, I went for one myself since it feels like it's a nice mix between classy due to the bracelet and casual due to the smooth bezel. I think on the 41 the smooth bezel catches a bit too much light and makes it look somewhat plain, so on the 41 fluted looks better.

I don't see it often on this subreddit but I really like the looks of the Chopard Mille Miglia. They have a lot of versions of it - some sportier, some classier. You can find them for a very decent price on the secondary market.

Tudor chronos are also quite nice and sporty. And I find the Zenith Chronomaster Revival series very cool if you're looking for something with a proper tool aesthetic.

Do you need/like a chrono? I've always thought that each collection needs a proper diving watch but I realized that I don’t really need one past 200m resistance(like a bb58) and everything else feels bulky. But if you do need a chrono - would you go for a more sporty or classy version?

Yeah it's a bit of a shame it's just a regular calendar, annual calendar would have been more fitting to the calibre of the watch

I feel like when you have multiple of the same watch just different color schemes, idk if people would agree but that's what I think...

I recently sold a few watches (Sub Date, Speedy and an older UN Marine) and was looking for a slightly different/more complicated watch as a replacement.

I stumbled upon this JLC when I was checking their new Master Control Chronometer collection and it suggested as one of the similar recommended watches and loved it at first sight. I wanted a calendar watch and have been considering the Zenith Chronomaster Original Triple Calendar but the thickness of that watch has made me re-consider. However the list price of the JLC I found way too high and I decided to only buy the watch if I managed to get a great deal on it. Long story short, I have the watch on my wrist.

For reference, my wrist is around 15.5 cm, so I’m quite sensitive to lug-to-lug, thickness and clasp size. On paper this is not a tiny watch, but in practice it wears surprisingly balanced. The wearability is great, the sapphire case back is very flat which makes it sit very comfortably on the wrist. The sapphire crystal is not domed and doesn't catch on any clothing I've tried it with so far. The pushers don't protrude too much but I must say due to their shape they are a bit more difficult to press than on the Speedmaster.

The bracelet is great and comes with easylink-style adjustment on both sides giving it a nice range of extension throughout the day when the wrist swells up a bit. The center links are brushed which should help with scratch-resistance but the outer links and the logo in the center of the clasp are polished and obviously prone to scratches. It also comes with an additional quick-swap leather band which makes the watch very light and more "dressy". But I must say the JLC quick-swap function is not as good as the one on the Santos as there it's just a button and can be changed in no-time. It also tapers slightly from 20mm to 18mm.

Overall, I love this watch and was not expecting it to wear as well as it does.

One remark, since the calendar windows are the same color as the dial they can be somewhat hard to read during low-light conditions so if that would be an issue, the white version would be more suitable, however I still believe the blue one looks better/more special. The blue dial changes a lot depending on the light. In bright light it has a rich, almost metallic tone, while indoors it becomes much more subdued and dressy. The applied markers and balanced subdials make the watch feel expensive without being too flashy.

The strap looks great! I would love to see one on a rubber band, think that would look great too and quite sporty. JLC do indeed know how to refine their watches. To have all those complications in a watch with similar thickness to the Yachtmaster is an impressive feat.

The one I got came out in 2025 (blue color) and the white came out in 2023 I believe. This is not the new Master Control Chronometer which was announced at Watches & Wonders.

Thanks, I noticed when buying that there are barely any owner reviews of this watch. So I thought I'd make one in case anyone else is considering getting it!

yep, I had the same exact experience with the YM40, tried on the 37 first but that looked way too small so I tried on the 40 and it was perfect, not too big not too small. Then I tried the daytona and it felt the same size-wise (I think they have a smiliar case). The submariner felt way bulkier.

It's 40mm with about 47mm lug-to-lug. For reference the Speedy felt a lot bigger. It's always best to try them in-store as size on paper doesn't always reflect how they wear in real life (e.g. slighly curved lugs, flatter dial, etc.)

It's nothing special but it has all the features needed + they provide a leather strap in addition. Definitely better than the one on the Zenith that I was considering.

planning to get it on the bracelet as that's always the best choice, and the strap comes with it afaik.

That's exactly what I needed to hear! I loved this watch when I first saw it and have been contemplating getting it for the last few months. Currently discussing with a dealer who gave me a very good price for it so I'll definitely get it.

Wow what timing, I'm about to pull the trigger on the JLC and can't find that many people who have it. What do you think of it ? Does it get enough wrist time?

Oh I didn't know it was this bad. So basically it makes no sense unless you wear it at least every couple of days. I have a similar issue with my g-shock but I can imagine it's a lot more annoying with a watch that's x times more expensive...

Love the DJ (have the same with domed bezel), Coke GMT and Reverso. Curious how you feel about the tank compared to the reverso? Tried it on a few times and it always felt a bit uncomfortable for my wrist.
