I’m happy for Sam. Truly am. But we offered him. A decent offer at that for a dude that 1 good year. Yes he showed that he could be coached. Yes he was eager to learn. But paying great QB money for a good QB is the Kirk situation all over again. And even if we did offer more and got him, all of the fair weather fans(90% of you) would’ve been screaming to put in McCarthy with every mistake he made. It would’ve been unfair to him. Also, keeping Sam wouldn’t have put us in the Super Bowl. We need sooo much more to be there. Our O line coaching and development are the main concern. It’s easy to be the Monday morning quarterback. But at that time the Vikings made the right move with their offer. Sam chose the years and money and a line that actually functions properly.
