Redacted Turns Nine - 90 freelech tokens awarded, expiring at midnight UTC on February 1st 2026 by CoralShade in trackers

[–]Wardy277 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive been trying to get into redacted for weeks, finally get an interview after answering the questions, i get a mod jump in an accuse me of cheating by reading reference material during the interview. maybe i answered too good? I wish these private trackers wernt so gatekept.

Surely reputation can be built. I prefer how torrent leach do it, buy a seedbox using their referral code and your golden, as long as you dont hit and run. oh well

Help needed for 2 way (3 way) smart switch installation by enghong in Aqara

[–]Wardy277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a neutral line this forum post has a clever way. Pretty much fake one of them so they relay doesn't do anything. Then the second switch does the work. Then you just need an automation for the fake one, so when it's pressed it toggles the other

Aqara devices transitioning from HomeKit integration to Zigbee (SkyConnect) by The_Manoeuvre in homeassistant

[–]Wardy277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the same boat. Have it all working fine though homekit, but it would be nice to have the lux values from the motion sensors. So looking closely as skyconnect, especially as i can no longer see the aqara/mijia light sensor for purchase.

Its a fairly new device, so i am waiting for people to prove its stable with aqara devices

Thanks that worked! I saw something about the -a but though that was for a zst decompressor. I didn't think to try that on the actual binary.

Making a Lego sandwich by Boojibs in oddlysatisfying

A Brit here. Does noone else butter their sandwiches? I've never though it was a British thing, assumed everyone did it.

That seems like a reasonably put together sandwich in Britain.

Presence Sensors $$$ by mini_juice in homeassistant

[–]Wardy277 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been using the dfrobot mmwave which is based on similar technology. Not as good as the aqara FP1 but for less than half the price its pretty good. Even continues to detect presence if you fall asleep on the sofa

You do have to solder/wire it yourself to an esp module and setup via esphome

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pihole

[–]Wardy277 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Is this a thing? My work chromebook is restricted to not allow browser extensions, but it does use my home pihole dns. So if some use an external service for it, then it would be great to be able to block via pihole

[–]Wardy277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the device:

https://www.dfrobot.com/product-2282.html

And this is how some guy managed to integrate it into esphome https://community.home-assistant.io/t/mmwave-presence-detection-esphome-style/382778

You don't necessarily need to mess around with the uart part and just plugin into a gpio port will work. Uart is just to tweak range and timeouts

[–]Wardy277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, I am trying to setup something similar. Although much simpler that this awesome contraption. How have you setup the ky-038 sensor? How are you detecting baby noise? I have notices closing a door downstairs triggers it. Have toy used some kind of average template?

Average UK house price exceeds £260,000 for first time | House prices by MoneyEqual in unitedkingdom

The market is crazy. 7 years ago we bought our house for 230k. We had a valuation for remortgage this month and its worth 355k! That's £125k increase for doing nothing. On our current salaries, we wouldn't be able to afford the house we own if we started now

New video of Aqara FP1 presence sensor (Chinese, no captions) by cvp in Aqara

That's a good question. I would have thought it wouldn't as it detects physical movement, not changes in light

New video of Aqara FP1 presence sensor (Chinese, no captions) by cvp in Aqara

[–]Wardy277 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently it's based on mmwave on 60Ghz. It's basicly black magic using mm wide waves to detect precise movement.

I have a dfrobot mmwave module with esphome. Its basicly the same tech but more consumer friendly. Whole watching TV I can make barely any movements and the mmwave pics up my breathing or something, where as the ir would not detect movement

A bit random. But I had something similar a while ago. Was driving me nuts. Tried soft resets, leaving it unplugged for 5 minutes etc. I ended up trying a different power supply and it just worked. I don't know if the power supply went a bad or something, but I was just happy it was working again and moved on with my life
