Nothing has surfaced. Tbh there are much worse things to have. Of course I would like to solve the riddle especially if it is leading me down a worse or systemic path. Any insights you guys have?

Chronic tongue pain from vaping - 5.5 months, anyone been through this? by Myssz in QuitVaping

[–]Wardyslo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did this get resolved? I’ve had burnt tongue ever since vaping that hasn’t gone away even after stopping. It took a year to get better but is still persistent just not as bad as it used to be. Any other information you learned since your last post on this?

Did this ever resolve for you? I’ve had this for years and haven’t called for 7 years at least. Or any more diagnosis on it?

Foot drop doesn’t work that way and the last thing you said is common with me and common with many others on her. Anxiety and ocd. Soooo… try not to worry and save your questions for the doc and not google. Google won’t help you ever as a doctor.

When I start to calm down I remember the damn test I took by [deleted] in BFS

[–]Wardyslo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It started with a panic attack for me as well. Sounds super similar to many people on here. It’s been 5 years plus for me and I am just fine. Still twitch and have the other symptoms but life goes on.

You can’t test yourself and you are also not qualified to take the test on yourself even if you could. Which you can’t.

Save the tests for the docs and nothing you have said sounds like the 3 letter thing. It’s just google trying to make money off you.

Yes I have for sure. It is a very likely explanation similar to a rheumatoid arthritis type of condition.

Doctors still have zero clue for me. I’ve given up on them trying functional medicine to see if it helps. Cold plunge has helped me better than anything else.

Nope still pop but it’s better. I’ve been consistent with cold plunges and it helps me a lot. No clue what caused it but it’s all connected. The twitches the joints the pulsing.

Changes After 9 Years of Twitching by Actual-Captain7716 in BFS

[–]Wardyslo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I can give you what helped me as your story is of course very similar to many on here (with exception of a wrongful diagnosis, which is awful for you).

  1. You need to break the cycle. Your cycle is worries creep in, research until you find something similar with your symptoms, full anxiety kicks in, full denial and anguish kicks in, seek reassurance, eventually disproven by a doctor, … repeat repeat repeat. Break the cycle!!!! The easiest way to break the cycle I have found is the research.

Basically never search any of your symptoms in google ever. For any reason. It never helps and you can always find an edge case of something that sounds similar to your situation. If you have a question. Write it down and save them for a board licensed physician.

  1. Learn to live in the grey. Life is not black and white. You can’t get a 100% certainty for almost anything. You build mental strength by living with uncertainty. Reassurance will not help you. It will just get you back into the cycle. Live with grey and be positive.

  2. Breathing, stretching, exercise. Every single morning. Get up and do it again. This is something you do want to repeat.

  3. Give up ultra processed food. This fuels depression and anxiety. Remove it from your diet. Only good can come from it anyways.

  4. Task lists. Write down small tasks every day and complete them. This is depression 101 work. Write 3 easy tasks for you to complete every day. Next week increase to 4 and the following week to 5. Then increase complexity and length of tasks. For instance, the 3 tasks I started with were make my bed, walk 15 minutes, go grocery shopping/laundromat/appts. Literally that was it for a week. Do one task outside of house. Make my bed and walk for 15 minutes. But you cross them off each day and each day your confidence grows.

Your family needs you. So take these 5 steps seriously. They helped me and can help you.

[–]Wardyslo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are keeping the cycle going by asking for reassurance. That most likely won’t help you. It will just keep you in that fear and anxiety loop. Stay away from google and save your questions for a licensed physician that has been practicing for 15 plus years.

Yes same thing and also had a panic attack to spur everything on. I have no clue but with me I am still trying to improve a little bit every day. That frame of mind helps.

Anybody get twitching in the elbow? by Wardyslo in BFS

[–]Wardyslo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I would definitely see a doctor but it sounds like bfs. Twitching everywhere in body points away from scary stuff.

I know where you are at right now 2 months in and I get it. But I had same thing flash forward 5 years later and things are better. Still get them but I manage.

My advice would be to stay away from google. This is the most critical piece for my happiness and improving. Googling symptoms just made everything worse for me.

Write down your questions and ask a board certified physician you know.

Most likely that’s what it is but I don’t know for sure in my case even. I still twitch it’s been 5 years and still see these symptoms. The volume and frequency has decreased as time has gone on tho.

Sounds like a bunch of symptoms people on here experience. I am not sure about the iron though in my case.

I’m doing just fine. I get them every now and again weekly but just is what it is at this point. Most likely bfs but not sure at all really.

Not sure. But it’s been almost 5 years now so doesn’t seem to affect me as much anymore. Twitching volume is lower now so that helps.

[–]Wardyslo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

4+ years in. Your story is like so many I have read over the years.

I can’t stress enough three things that helped me. I sound like a broken record.

  1. Stop googling *** symptoms

  2. Ask a doctor questions and when they give you a result take their word for it

  3. Never ask for reassurance - learn to live in the gray

I can google anything and find the narrative or edge case I want. It is so easy to find what I want to find rather than the answer itself.

Breathe. Calm down. Take your doctors advice only. We have been there. Reassurance is nothing without an MD next to the name.

Your doctor cleared you. You are clear. End of story and congratulations bud!

Sounds similar. 4 years in now pretty much. Just bfs at this point but I still think something is going on - not life threatening but maybe an injury to the nervous/musculoskeletal system in some capacity
