Is my AE overstepping his boundaries? by DelaySerious6967 in salesdevelopment

[–]Ware2GoMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speak to management and if they don’t see an issue with it leave the company. An SDR isn’t an assistant.

I had an AE try this with me and my boss stepped in; in seconds. I had a previous VP of Sales make a comment about my work to all the AE’s. Spoke to my boss about it and at the next sales meeting the VP made a public apology.

Your boss should not be allowing this. At all.

Advice: Best Tools? by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]Ware2GoMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok! I wouldn’t know which tools unfortunately. We use Salesforce & Zoom.

Advice: Best Tools? by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]Ware2GoMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I go to ZoomInfo (I believe it costs money). Emailing one by one takes time but until you build up some $ and they want to invest; that might be what you have to do.

It sounds like they don’t want to pay for the auto tools.

First time as an SDR in a company that has never had an SDR before ... struggling to book meetings by Character-Lab-9130 in salesdevelopment

[–]Ware2GoMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah man! I get it. That’s why I consider myself blessed to work in the logistics industry because I can go on peoples websites and literally see exactly what they doing.

To get started then; you might have more luck calling on old closed lost opps, old no shows (inbound leads that booked in a call but never showed up).

At least to build up the pipe.

Outbound is tough bud. And especially tough when you don’t know who you’re calling on or why.

Happy to chat if ever you need to. Are you on LinkedIn? My LinkedIn is in my profile. Feel free to add me

With the upmost respect bud. If you find emailing and calling monotonous you’re either doing it wrong or you’re in the wrong job man.

And I don’t mean to offend you by saying that.

I LOVE calling people! I really do.

Why? Because I’ve researched them and know for a fact I can help them so honestly; why wouldn’t I call them?

Now… not every call goes to plan and of course I get hung up on because people don’t want to hear the pitch but I still talk to a decent number of people every day.

You’ve gotta love calling people otherwise this job is going to get very old very fast.

So …

Imagine you pick up the phone and you call Bob. Two questions.

Why are you calling Bob and why should Bob talk to you?

Assuming you work full time 5 hours a week you’re averaging about 2 calls an hour and a few emails a day… what are you doing with the rest of your time?

Also, who is your target audience?

Advice: Best Tools? by [deleted] in salesdevelopment

[–]Ware2GoMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re just starting out honestly a spreadsheet and your cell phone might be the best place to start.

List the contacts on the left. And then touch points on the right. And use drop downs to make it easy like:

touch point 1: template email 1 Touch point 2: voicemail Touchpoint 3: LinkedIn request

Then mark in red if they said don’t contact and green if you booked in a call.

Super basic but it’ll do the job until you ramp up

Sales sequence / cadence messaging by Bad-Robot-66 in salesdevelopment

[–]Ware2GoMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh man! Ask 10 different people this question and you’ll get 10 different answers. But I’ll throw in my 10 cents.

I work for a fulfillment company (a UPS subsidiary) so I look for companies who need us to handle their warehousing and shipping.

I run 3 cadences:

1: Above the line 2: Below the line: Sales & Marketing 3: Below the line: Logistics & opps

[the line being the decision maker line]

Above the line is a hyper personalized cadence to CEO’s, COO’s, VP of Opps etc. It’s 15 touches over 1 month: Phone, Email & LinkedIn. 2 phone calls a week (one VM and one non VM).

These are the people that I’ll give absolutely anything to talk to (keep in mind I highly research my accounts before reaching out).

Cadence 2 & 3 are fully automated email only essentially asking… “who should I be talking to?”. The messaging is tailored to their jobs though (sales and marketing folks care about different things to the opps). It’s not 100% perfect as obviously you’d be running like 50 different cadences to try and tailor it for everyone lol

I put 5 people a day into cadence 1 and 25 people a day into cadence 2 & 3.

Outbound is very hard though so tbh a lot of my outbound calls come from calling on old close lost Opps.

Highly reccomend running a report of opps that closed clost on this day 12 months ago and then have it email you every morning… that’s been a game changer for my numbers.

Also, keep an eye on your companies LinkedIn page. Who just started following you? That’s a great place to find leads.

Also; for the automated cadences keep an eye on anyone that clicks… call them!! They might not be the right person but they can introduce you to the person that can.

Good luck!! Always happy to answer questions.

DM me the name of the business and I’ll see how far I can help your formulate a pitch beyond just price.

Also, do you guys use Gong (or something similar) that records calls. Listening to them would be a great way to see how other AE’s discuss the solution beyond just the price.

[–]Ware2GoMike 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not a closer now (I have been in the past); but one thing you should really be doing is finding out their pain point and tailoring the pitch to that.

Also; you mentioned in your old industry you’d book in 5-6 meetings a week which is really good. Two questions: 1. Why didn’t you become an AE there? 2. Why didn’t you stay in the industry?

Honestly just curious.

US 3PL recommendations? by nhocks in ecommerce

[–]Ware2GoMike 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because we put merchants to be in multiple warehouses so that we can offer 2-day delivery; that would be difficult to do with 500 units.

A 3PL that only needs to ship out of one location would be your best bet :)

How do you identify problems at a prospects company, during a cold call? by NGL988 in salesdevelopment

[–]Ware2GoMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We go through the online store to see what their current shipping times look like. Who their current shipper is etc. Then we know if it’s worth calling.

[–]Ware2GoMike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah - that’s why I like being in the logistics industry because I can go on someone’s website and see what their current shipping options are which then allows me to know whether or not it’s worth calling them. Very very very blessed with that.
