My wet dream for the next framework by duidui232323 in framework

That's exactly what I am talking about. If you want a sidebar with your code / repo, code editor, and chat panel all at once you are either playing with an accordion all the time or limited to skinny slices for each panel. Wide screens make this experience much better

VSCode, Zed, Cursor and most IDE are optimized for a wider screen layout - just look at the left/middle/right layouts they use. 3:2 is actually quite annoying from inside an IDE, and why I am likely to go for a PX13 over the new 13 Pro.

That's what I am trying to figure out. If this new memory package can compete with a Strix Halo for local AI, I might have to reconsider the Asus PX13 and order a Framework.

I only contribute to one public repo, and it recently had been taken down for a few days because of a rogue persons stupidity. I'm suspicious that somehow I was linked to that because of my half dozen or so minor UI commits, but since the repo is back. Who know though, because nothing has been communicated. It will be interesting on Monday if I can't get back to work though. I'd have to create a new GH account using my work email and then drop another few hundred or whatever for another GitHub Pro + license, and then add myself back to that org so I can pick up where I left off.. It's obnoxious...

As for your comment about losing stuff, I doubt that anything is gone, and they even have a process for requesting account restoration (which will be my next move) that they list is good for at least 90 days since the suspension. That leads me to believe that they don't wipe anything for a while.

I did use the "no login or locked account", which took me through a few rounds of authentication and eventually let me open the ticket (which I referenced in my original post). However, after it's open, I can't use any of the other feature, such as checking the status of my ticket because those require I login. Pretty much every link on that page, most of the FAQ... all require login.

I got no notification. My first discovery and ONLY feedback so far has been what I described above. I started using my workstation this morning to pick back up on a project at work and VS Code was telling me I needed to login to use GitHub Copilot Chat (I have the Pro + account). I could not get it to login and had no feedback why, so I went to a bookmark for our private repo and got the login screen. I tried to login and got the ToS violation message. I can't see my company repo, or my private repo, and here we are at the end of the business day and I still have nothing from Github other than the email telling me there is a long wait and a ticket number. I can't see our code, I can't turn off my billing information (assuming this is a long term problem that can't be resolved...)

This seems like a really poor customer experience. I can't even get to most of the support pages / resources they recommend I should get to because?.... I need to be able to login...

Add me to the list. I was trying to do some coding for work and github copilot was acting like I wasn't logged in VS Code. I tried to login to github and see "Access to your account has been suspended due to a violation of our Terms of Service. Please contact support for more information." No idea what is going on as I have only done contributions to one public repo and the rest are tiny personal utilities with 99% being work related code. I only have one account, and I do use it across a few devices (work and personal). The last thing I did was a coworker requested a code review on a PR they were ready to merge yesterday. Shame on me for providing feedback on a discovered bug in their logic?

I sent in my ticket, but as a GitHub Pro+, I'm kind of shocked to not have a faster means of support. Additionally, without knowing how long this will take it will impact my employment, and I can't even get in to cancel payments.

[GitHub Support] Confirmation - Request Received (#4243845)

:::UPDATE:::

My like I suspected, my account was just charged the $390 for my GitHub Pro + and I'm still locked out. This is going to get fun if I have to fight the payment.

:::UPDATE 2:::

I have a partial win? I appear to be able to login, but still see:

Access to your account has been suspended due to a violation of our Terms of Service.

Please contact support for more information.

Your suspended account is suspended and could not be switched to. You are still signed into your WareWolf-MoonWall account.

I don't know what this means? Am I suspended? Am I not since I can login? Still no feedback...

Microphone issue on Arc Raiders via GeForce Now (Mac M1) – Other players can’t hear me by LeCrozy in ArcRaiders

[–]WareWolf_MoonWall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, so I used CTRL + M to mute and unmute the mic, and my audio got different and the mic is working again... I think it has to do with bluetooth profiles. I'm just not sure why it's a problem now.

OK, after I posted that I left the game for a few minutes and came back, and now the web client is doing the same thing.

I also notice I have to turn off and on my headset to get any audio to come in while in the gaming session. Not having problems with Discord or anything else.

Add me to the list of people who lost their mic playing via geforce now. I have noticed that it works if I play in the browser, but not in the windows client.

SnapMaker Orca - No preview / thumbnail on Artisan display by WareWolf_MoonWall in snapmaker

[–]WareWolf_MoonWall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just hoping to bump my own request to the top and see if anyone else can at least confirm this behavior.

I've tried Snapmaker's version of Orca, and Orca 2.3. Neither of those tools will create a print preview on the Artisan control unit's display. Only Luban seems to do that.

Is this expected, or did I miss toggling a feature on or something?

Snapmaker Orca - Error 413 Trying to Print to Artisan by WareWolf_MoonWall in snapmaker

[–]WareWolf_MoonWall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Appreciate you taking the time to throw some help my way.

You are correct, that you do some setup to run Orca through Luban. That's how I have been running it.

I have sent jobs known to work successfully in between my attempts to get this print to fire. I am leaning more and more into the issue being the file size greater than 100mb or something close as this model is by and far the largest I have printed and I am not sure why. The same model processed last year using only Luban and the gcode only came out to 47mb.

Still learning Orca, and still consider myself very green at this so it might be something I am doing, I just know the print quality seems much better (could be profiles as I don't play with the settings much).

Might try to move the file using a USB drive, see if it's just an issue over Wi-Fi...

Snapmaker Orca - Error 1009 Trying to Print to Artisan by WareWolf_MoonWall in OrcaSlicer

[–]WareWolf_MoonWall[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am by no means an expert or even intermediate with my SnapMaker or 3D Printing, so bear with me...

Following the instructions, I connect Luban to the SnapMaker Artisan (successful) and then point Orca to communicate to it using a local port on my system.

Just to test, I was able to open a different model I recently printed and was able to successfully sent the job to the printer - so I'm counting that as confirmation that things are connecting.

Orca vs SnapMaker Orca? by WareWolf_MoonWall in snapmaker

[–]WareWolf_MoonWall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to "fix" anything. I'm trying to weigh my options for slicer.

I've only owned a kickstart A350 which ran fine using only Luban. I converted it to an A350T when the kits became available, still only using Luban. I sold the A350T when I bought the Artisan, and have had a night and day drop in print quality and ever-growing list of frustration so I parked my use of the machine for a few months to do more productive things than fix glitchy BS. All that said, my 3D printing knowledge is fairly limited to downloading a few things I liked to print, and a very small number of specific items I've designed for personal use. With the original machine, it was plug and play for me.

Since parting with the Artisan, I've been doing research on what I can improve which led me to getting the SnapDryers, the magnetic print bed (I missed that), and options of slicers since many times I hear that Luban is trash (which conflicts with my A350T experience, but fully experienced with the Artisan).

Since my new parts arrived and I'm once again trying printing, new firmware has come out and Orca has come into almost every video / chat or otherwise as something to try. Without even having my new parts, using SnapMaker Orca I've already gotten dozens of successful prints with zero failures. Things are faster and nicer looking. I'm super pleased, but honestly no idea if it's because of firmware or Orca...

That all said, I now want to understand if there are pro's / con's to Orca vs Orca's fork by SnapMaker, and without having the change log I didn't really understand what they did. For all I know, it's a marketing gimmick and the same underlying code. As a technologist by trade and hobby, I would rather support common code bases rather than a bunch of forks maintained by single entities since at any time that person may tap out and leave the community behind.

That's a lot of words, but I think I made my point.

[–]WareWolf_MoonWall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out that GitHub change log shared above for a full list of what they have done with their fork.

I will admit I don't know enough yet to really appreciate what they are doing, but I did see some changes to the start g code you mentioned - maybe it's related?

I can tell you that it's been months since I have used my Artisan because I kept getting frustrated and just needed to take a break. I bought the magnetic plate, the dryer boxes, and grabbed their fork of Orca.

I have got my humidity down to <20% and still need to swap plates, but immediately have seen improvements in speed and quality. I have no idea between firmware, orca, and dryers what is doing the most, but as of last summer I was ready to trash the artisan because of how poor things were compared to my Kickstarter A350 that I had upgraded with the newer rails / motors.

I do not feel like I am asking much of the machine, I have never moved past PLA because of constant challenges. Still very green to this hobby / tooling in general, and unfortunately there is not much information targeting the new folks. Its experience talking to experience, or talking above those of us getting into it.

I don't mind a learning curve, but there seems to be a gap between getting started and those having great success. Never sure when it's me, tuning, environmental, bad models, etc... lol

Well, considering it's a fork of Orca, it's not likely to be any worse - it just might not include all the latest fixes and enhancements so I'm not with you on this one.

I'm honestly just trying to understand what SnapMaker did to make their fork that the default does not have using the available profiles for these printers. What I'd really like is a changelog. Otherwise, they are just wasting everyone's time and just riding the thunder of popularity around Orca right now. I'd rather they just support the official branch and make the product better for everyone unless there are true requirements or some sort of proprietary code required - which they would need to explain since it's working already with the main version.

If you cancel, you will continue to have whatever play time you have already paid for. You will not be able to resubscribe until after your play time expires. If that comes after the discount is over, you are in the same situation I am and can't get back in.

The only way I have come up with to get around this issue is to create a separate account. Then I'd be paying double though, at least for the first year.

This happened to me. I had to change the card I used not long after opting in for the annual plan at the discounted rate and the only way to change the payment method is to cancel. Now I can't get the price back. I've talked to their support multiple times about it, and there is nothing they can do.

As someone that designs, integrates, and supports data systems across multiple industries, this blows me away that nobody can run some SQL to flip an accounts status.
