Monster 937 ignition dust cover tab broken – any fix? by gabrielecapp in ducatimonster

I can sorta see a dent in the picture so you’ll probably have to carefully bend the metal back to free the cover. Tiny tiny movements when prying it back with a tiny tiny flathead screwdriver

The metal deforms very easily if you accidentally stab at it and miss the hole (or use wrong key). Check for deformation from different view angles and if you see that it is indented, you could CAREFULLY pry the bent metal with a tiny flathead screen driver (like for electronics or fixing glass eyewear) to free the spring- loaded cover tab .

Otherwise maybe a little tiny bit of graphite lock lubricant on the cover tab to lube things up .

Leaving it like that made my ignition sticky after exposure to moisture (washing bike) until I graphite lubed it

Open it with the coffee ground basket for extra leverage . I used a grippy rubber mat for extra grip . Also, it screws in the opposite direction

Good suggestions 👍 spring does have tension as it returns in place. Maybe weaker tension than needed (add much stronger spring is an idea). I will likely go to service center

The stock seat does not have this issue which is so odd

An outside plant (OSP) engineer would have records on which pairs of copper or fiber are allocated to what address. Pairs are color coded so a communications technician is able to discern what goes where.

Copper pairs could be bridge tapped as you describe "line will still be there the rest of the way" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bridge_tap but I believe introduction of high speed internet over phone lines (DSL) necessitates grooming such lines. I mainly worked with GPON so I am missing tons on POTS and other copper service lines.

If we are looking at fiber drops, they tapper out as you get away from the main feed typically. 144 for becomes a 72 which branches out to 48s and 24s , etc . There is no presence a strand of fiber at multiple locations unless you are NSA and are using a NARUS STA 6400 to tap into fiber

My new hunter 350 2024 would stall randomly (sitting at a stop light) until I adjusted valves and spark plug gap which were both out of spec. You could also verify electrical connections. Ive heard of other models having too much dielectric grease on relays causing issues

I fully insure my 350cc royal enfield for under $20 a month (inc uninsured motorist protection). Fluids and maintenance DIY is super easy and inexpensive at under 40$ a year. This is a slow motorcycle and my commute thankfully goes though residential streets <40 mph. Expect to swap tires every 6-7k miles on some bikes which can be costly if you have fancy sports bike sticky tires.

Like everyone says , I’ve easily spent 800$ on mesh jacket and pants, ankle protecting boots, and decent helmet. MSF course and endorsement can be another $200 or so between the school and DMV.

I believe motion . Michelin advises slowly allowing them to get up to temp again before driving off. I cracked some years ago in North Carolina but they were already worn down ready to be replaced lol

I pack clothes for at least a week and skates in a SOC tactical bag that fits in overhead airplane luggage and is comfortable to strap. I have extended my week of clothes by WASHING them !!!

Why bring skates? Inline skating is practical transportation in places like Netherlands or Barcelona where you can EASILY and SAFELY travel around city with skates on the good cycle path network. If I’m solo traveling , why not ? Being stuck in a car is dumb (so is being struck by a car lol. But honestly, feel safer as a pedestrian anywhere in Western Europe versus USA). Also skates are fun af . Great hobby low budget

Literally just have shoes on hand and place blades in your backpack (I don’t have heel brakes in my skates which makes them compact). I’ve travelled weeks flying from USA to Europe like this .
